Cabana Cumpana

The location is absolutely beautiful, on the lake. The staff are great, extremely nice and helpful people. Good food and reasonably priced. The potential of the location is there, but it needs some serious work.

Old and not maintained cabin. Felt like a trip back in time of the 80's communist Romania. Everything was from that era (the doors, windows, tiles in the bathroom, the furniture....) It could be like a theme park, for those wanting to experience how we lived 40 years ago....

Nice location, next to the lake. Staff were nice and food was good.

The room, which was supposedly recently renovated, was stock 1960s Communist Romania everything, except for the beds and night stands. Just to be clear, it wasn't nice everything in that style, it was fixtures and doors and windows that were made 50+ years ago, along with the wear and tear. Balcony door and windows were leaky, the tub had rust marks, the doors had ancient handles and locks. The room had no AC and was cramped. I could not fit the chair in front of the tiny desk and had to sit on the bed to work on my laptop. There were only two outlets in the room and both were very hard to reach. The room was way overpriced for what it has to offer. The worst part for this cabin is that the road to the property from the Transfăgărășan highway is a forest dirt road that was so full of potholes that it took more than 30 min to drive 7 km. I would not drive on that unless I had a 4x4. Had I known the condition of that road, I would had never booked that place.

Location is very beautiful

The road to get there is very hard. 6km of dirt road filled with puddles, mud and potholes, which you can only drive through in first gear. I don't recommend doing this route in anything less than a SUV. Wifi is very unstable- disconnects a lot. None of the staff speak any English. Value for money is pretty low i would say.

The view is wonderful!

The road there is very bad, one has to have a SUV car. The rooms and everything about the hotel is very old and it definitely needs renovation. It is clean, but it felt like going back some 45 years.. I do not recommend staying there.

Lovely place to stay for night or two in mountains. Little bit dated but that's not problem at all.

Price should be little bit lower after pick season.

Breakfast was good and evening meals really good.

Quite remote. Tap.water was a bit brown!
