Friendly owners when we arrived. Closeby the trail and coast line.

Upon our arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a bigger room with bathtub (for additional 20$ per night) and we agreed. The original room that was offered to us with two queen beds had flakes hanging from the ceiling (probably due to water leakage) and that was the motivation for us to upgrade to another room. We tried to fill the bathtub the last night of our stay and the water turned green! We tried to reach out to the owners by phone as we could not use the water at all (drinking, shower) for the entire evening, but they were not available. The next morning we explained the issue to the lady and showed her the same photo, but apparently she was already aware of the issue (through their neighbours) and was due to some piping work in the neighbourhood by the municipality. All she said was that she was sorry to hear about the issue. The rooms are also noisy in general and you can hear the adjacent rooms. But the owners were very friendly when we arrived. But after our review we got an angry message that we had to ‘man up’ and mention it directly with them, which we did. So that’s a bit unprofessional and disappointing.

Not much

Not a great location…looked like an industrial area with limited signage. Looked more like an industrial complex rather then a lodge. Not a welcoming look. Lots of outside stairs to get to our room. Hard to find the office and locate someone to check us in. They only knew that we were on the premises because their dogs started barking.

Clean room, well stocked with coffee and treats. Bathroom the same with the needed amenities. BNed comfortable so good nights sleep. Bonus having a fireplace that actually works. Quiet neighbourhood which is important to me.

Clean. Friendly. Great parking. Well appointed decor and great layout.

Beds are too high for a short (5’1”) person to get into. Recommend a bench that guests can slide out from under the bed to use as needed. Toilets are too low for older guests with hip and knee issues; would be nice if they were upgraded to comfort height.

My stay here was the absolute high point of my whole trip, and there was almost nothing I didn't like about this place. It was comfortable, quiet, relaxing and tastefully decorated — exactly what I was hoping for. It had everything I needed and more — the big bathtub was a nice touch, as well. The lock was broken on the bathroom door, and Glenn had it fixed within hours.

It's not exactly within walking distance of the town centre, but if you're staying here, you probably have a car, anyway.

Easy access to town by driving or walking. Very clean room with good amenities.

Luckily the people staying around me were quiet as the walls were very thin. Lots of stairs.
