Oasis Paraiso Ecolodge

Jorge made us feel right at home for our 1 night stay. We mistakenly thought we were 3 people for the booking but only ended up being 2 and he was completely understanding and charged us for 2 instead. The property is just a short 4 minute from the centre plaza. Jorge also let us store our big backpacks while we hiked and stayed in the canyon for a night. He also let us shower when we came back before we hopped on our bus which was very kind of him. Breakfast is included in the booking as well which was great before we headed off early.

Friendly staff with good english, decent breakfast with pancakes, jam, tea/coffee, fruit. You can order dinner for 25 soles (vegetarian, we got spaghetti with pumpkin sauce) or 30 soles (with meat, usually chicken). The pool is nice! We got towels, soap and and toilet paper for free.

Some parts of the accomodation seemed under construction/provisoric or run down. Not a major concern though.

El paisaje espectacular. Buenonpara darse una escapada y volver recargado. Es ideal para quienes gustan del trekking. No revomendable para gente mayor o niños muy pequeños

Truly an oasis! You get to see the property for at least 70% of the descent and once you get there it’s fantastic! I ran and jumped in the pool as soon as humanly possible and it was just what I needed. The rooms were also quite comfy with plenty of blankets and a hot shower. They also DO have WiFi AND plugs/outlets in the rooms unlike some other reviews I’ve read and neither is of additional charge. The drinks, both cocktails and juices are absolutely massive. It’s like a chalice of liquid and is amazing. The food is also pretty good. Basic but good, you are in a canyon 1100m down from the nearest city so I feel like you should expect basic food, but it was good! Rooms were nice and clean, and it was peaceful.

If I had to be picky I would say slightly low shower pressure and a carb-only dinner and breakfast set menu (spaghetti and pancakes) were not ideal but nonetheless what we needed to get back up the mountain.

Das Gelände und der Barbereich wirkten nicht so sauber. Auch das Zimmer war leider nicht so sauber. Zum Abendessen gab es als vegetarische Option Spaghetti mit einer undefinierbaren gelben Soße.
