Lodge 67°N Lapland

We visited Äkäslompolo for one week this March to see the northern lights as part of my 60th birthday celebration. I could not have asked for a nicer gift, or a better place to call home during that time than the lodge. It is perfectly situated so as to not hear any traffic from the main road above, yet walking distance to everything in the village and with a view towards the “lompolo” that is disturbed only by trees, pristine snow and acrobatic squirrels. The minute we walked through the door we knew it was perfect for us. Cozy, welcoming, relaxed and tastefully decorated, with two saunas and plenty of space to relax. The following morning we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Toni and Ninnu, who had gladly taken every measure to meet my partner’s challenging dietary needs and ensure a cozy breakfast experience by the fireplace for both of us - which is not the case everywhere. All of the staff (Mia and Alma) we met during our stay were equally as welcoming and helpful, and made us feel like special guests. Our room was comfortable and clean, and had a kitchenette as well as a drying cabinet - perfect for coming home after an active day out on the snowy trails to make hot chocolate and hang up our wet clothes. The lounge area outside our room was the perfect place to enjoy hot chocolate and write into the travel journal. Cozy and warm seating and even two hanging chairs. We look forward to returning to the area again and when we do, there is no other place we would rather stay than at Ylläs Lodge 67° N.

there is nothing here that’s not to like!

Everything was super nice and practical. Lovely and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent, it was nice to sip the morning coffee by the fireplace. Great bed and silent room. Cross-country skiing tracks and the ski bus stop a short walk away.

There was no oven in the room.

Very cozy lodge with excellent amenities and very friendly owners. I felt like at home, but with better breakfast :-) all important locations are within walking distance, cc skiing tracks start very close, and the skibus stops right in front of the house. Perfect!

Literally nothing.

-excellent location for skiing, shopping, buses -beautifully refurbished premises -super-friendly staff creating a unique family-hotel feeling -home-like setting and great breakfast. -fully equipped ski-maintenance room -kitchenette in room and saunas available

Friendly staff, room is clean and big enough. Breakfast was good and pretty various. Price was fair.
