Uros Waliski Lodge

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Uros Waliski Lodge! The lodge itself and the views from it are absolutely stunning. Eduardo and Gloria are incredible hosts and took wonderful care of us. They arranged for all of our transportation and excursions and Gloria made us delicious meals. An unforgettable experience!

Eduardo and Gloria were very attentive and helpful. They helped arrange tours and Eduardo also took us out in his boat. They live on the island as well so are available day and night if any problems. Great food. The property itself is spectacular with lots of windows and stunning views. You can sit inside or out with blankets provided.

It’s chemical toilet. We didn’t expect that but in truth this is normal and not a big deal once you get used to it.

Gloria and Eduardo were perfect hosts. We arrived at night due to a long day of travel, and experienced a night sail on the lake to reach the hotel. It was only the next morning at first sunlight that we could discover how beautiful the surroundings are. The hotel is on a floating island (part of the Uros isles) and it does wobble a bit when boats pass by :-) The nature, the quiet, the views are exceptional. And so are the facilities : comfy bed, very clean compost toilet, shower. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Eduardo also took us to a nearby island for a short introductory course on floating island building. We also met some locals thanks to him. We would love to stay here again.

This is the place to stay if you want to stay on a floating island, Eduardo & Gloria are such nice people, they organised transfers to pick us up from the train station in Puno to take us to the island where Eduardo picked us up on the boat, he even organised us a bus to leave Puno and go to La Paz, Bolivia when we left the island, the meals they cook for you are delicious, fresh trout caught from Lake Titicaca. The attention to detail is amazing. The room and bed is the most comfortable you will stay in, and you wake up with views right on the lake, he took us out on his traditional Totora reed boat for sunset, and took us to explore the Uros islands to be shown how they make the islands. They have the friendliest dog too.

Nothing : be aware though it's freezing outside at night : warp up warm if you want to see strata outside . But inside it's toasty .

Gloria and Eduardo are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us into their home and taught us all about the islands of Uros. Eduardo took us on a tour of a local home. The meals they cooked for us were good. Grilled chicken, fried trout and fresh fruit & eggs for breakfast. The accommodations were clean and we had lots of blankets to keep us warm. They were clear to communicate that hot water would be hit and Miss due to solar power. We showered later in the day as they suggested and the water was hot! This is a very quiet & relaxing place to stay. We were content to just sit on our swinging bed on the little porch and enjoy the sunsets. We stayed 2 nights.

While our half day tour was nice and interesting we felt it could have been about an hour shorter as we had fully explored the area and were just waiting for the next phase of the tour.
