Three Tree Hill Lodge

I would rate this place 15/10 if I could! It was a real decadent spoil to stay here. We absolutely loved the location, the rooms are stunning, and the communal areas are so tasteful and inviting. Three Tree Hill Lodge has mastered hospitality - every effort was made to keep things classy, elegant, thoughtful. Yet, there was still an earthy feeling to the place, and I was reminded that I was on a farm with chickens and horses etc. Their care for the earth and all things green was a plus. We used the venue mostly for resting and relaxing and this is the perfect place to switch off. The self-guided walks are simply the best; the food was so unique, interesting and tasty; the staff are wonderful and attentive. Cant wait to come back!

Everything was more than perfect. The aircon in the bedroom was a life saver, thank you.

Unbelievably stunning location, views across the unspoilt bush landscape from rooms and terraces are unbeatable. Great food, and wonderful dining room / terrace / lounge meant meals were a relaxed delight. Extremely welcoming and engaging staff and hosts. The two dawn game walks we did are now right up there in the highlights of my life.

To be honest can't fault it. Simon (host/owner) even fixed my suspension on the rental car while we were there!

The staff are amazing and so accommodating and friendly. The location is spectacular- overlooking spionkop and you can see the Drakensberg mountains on the other side. Very family/kid friendly with toys and games in our cabin. Food was incredible too Absolutely loved our stay and would recommend and come back again

The location feels extremely remote and stunning. The feeling of being in a treehouse is beautiful. The views onto Spioenkop game reserve, from the main terrace, from the room veranda and from on walks are special. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay personal and warm.

Three Tree Hill Lodge is located pretty far away from the city where I stayed while in 🇿🇦, though 5 hours on a car were worth it. Vast amount of space for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. The place is beautiful and full of various plants. Being situated on a farm all the food is home made and is prepared for your choosing from a list. I really fell in love with the view from Churchill’s lodge and the lodge itself was amazing. Despite being made in an old style I found it a nice thing to get away from modern design for 2 days. The service was great as well: they offer coffee, tea, lemonade throughout the day and three meals per day which I found decent. Also would like to say that people there are very friendly: if something bothers you they will help and if you just want to have a conversation you will definitely have a great one! They also accept banking cards there (ApplePay works as well, which was great because I didn’t take any cards with me😂)

Due to load shading electricity turns off couple of times per day but I would consider it a minus if you came to enjoy nature. Though I had a decent 4G connection on my mobile (not everywhere, but had😅)

The fact that we had no choice with regards to food served. Some meals had no meat
