Villa Dara

Die Villa liegt wunderschön mit Blick auf die Bucht von San Agustin, ist gut zu erreichen mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Die Zimmer gruppieren sich um den beheizbaren Pool und gepflegten Garten, es gibt mehrere Sitzplätze draussen. Wir waren wiederholt zum Mountainbiken dort und schätzen die gute Anbindung.

Die Ausstattung der Küche fällt gegen die sonst geschmackvolle und gute Einrichtung um mehrere Stufen ab. Arcopal-Geschirr, Blechbesteck, billige Gläser, billige Filterkaffeemaschine, billige Spülmaschine, Backofen ohne Umluft, Küchenschubladen, die einem entgegegenfallen. Der Kühlschrank ist top, also wer nicht kochen und nur seine Getränke kühlen will, hat sicher Freude.

Villa Dara is very spacious with big rooms and communal areas. The pool is a good size with a lovely garden and deck area with sun loungers. It is high above San Agustin with spectacular views all the way to Maspalomas and the wonderful dunes. There is secure parking in a garage. We loved the Villa and really enjoyed our time there. You do need a car. What a wonderful island and so easy to get around. loved it!!!

These are the things that we feel would help to give the Villa a 9+ rating. It needs to be clear that the top floor and the ground floor are only accessed by going outside and down steps, Ok in the dry but not so good when it is wet. We felt that there should be a fridge and kettle in the upper floor. The TV's need to be Smart. We found the kitchen on the ground floor quite small even for 4 people and the oven and dishwasher are poor. The 2 rooms with double beds did experience noise at night 1 noisy hotel. An out door kitchen would be a wonderful addition.

Die Lage ist schön mit Blick auf die Stadt und das Meer. Gerade abends macht das schon etwas her. Die Lage ist ruhig, allerdings etwas windig. Allgemein ist der aussenbereich gepflegt. Der Garten lädt zum Entspannen ein.

Die Ausstattung in der Küche ist sehr dürftig, z.B. nur ein kleines Schneidebrett (ca. 25cmx20cm) vorhanden, defekte Kaffeemaschine, keine Topflappen o.ä., defekte Schubladen (fallen heraus, oder gehen nicht zu), die Kochplatten haben nicht viel Leistung, genauso wie die Spülmaschine. In einem Bad funktionierte die Klospülung gar nicht und bei den Wasserhähnen und der Dusche gab es kein Kaltwasser. Zudem hielt die Handbrause nicht und viel oben aus der halterung. So war sie als Dusche nicht nutzbar. In einem anderen Bad funktionierte die Klospülung mal und dann wieder nicht. Im Terassenbereich war die Sitzbank defekt. Der Mülleimer war bei Ankunft bis oben hin voll, so dass wir unseren Müll erstmal bei einem Hotel in der Nähe entsorgen mussten. Für den Pool war bei Ankunft kein Kescher vorhanden, erst auf Nachfrage. Ansonsten waren viele Gegenstände/Inventar recht abgewohnt. Wichtig: es ist wirklich kaum was in der Unterkunft/Küche vorhanden, also keine Grundausrüstung wie Salz, Pfeffer, Öl, Waschmittel, Frischhaltefolie usw.! Also unbedingt alles selber mitnehmen, oder vor Ankunft einkaufen.

Todo está estupendo , las mejores vista de la zona , la piscina es de gran tamaño camas muy cómodas, zona tranquila el chico y la chica de mantenimiento son unos grandes profesionales cualquier cosa te ayudan la anfitriona es una grandicima profesional un encato de persona se preocupa por todo , volveré sin duda muchísimas gracias

The host very kindly left groceries to help us start our vacation. This was a very kind gesture. Villa Dara was absolutely stunning both inside and out. Inside the villa there are 4 large bedrooms, there was plenty of family space on both levels of the property and plenty bathrooms. Outside the villa the garden and pool facilities were absolutely amazing and added to the wonder of the property. There was a decking area with sun loungers. The pool was cold but clean. I highly recommend this property. I would certainly return.

The internal door separating the villa with another property. Guests from the other property walked into our villa late one night. This door should have security locks from both sides so guests feel safe & secure.

The apartment is on top of a hill so had great Views. The pool was lovely after we got it heated. It was in a quiet area and we could easily keep ourselves to ourselves. Because we had a car the high location was not a problem for us. If you didn't have a car you could get all you need from the supermarket in one big shop and a taxi home. We enjoy walking so the hill was not an issue. If you do not like walking you will certainly need taxis. Elizabeth, the manager was very helpful and when we did have a problem it was resolved quickly.

I think marketing Villa Dara as 4 bedroom villa is a bit disingenuous. It is actually 2 apartments. The downstairs apartment has 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, lounge , kitchen and a great socializing area with views of the pool. The upstairs apartment has again 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, a great lounge with lovely views but no kitchen. So if wanted to use the lounge upstairs you would need to keep leaving it to access the kitchen facilities which are in the other apartment. There were only 2 of us so we did not use upstairs at all. I would say that the place could use a little update. The furniture is tired. The televisions are not smart TV's which was a bit of a surprise, there is no way of accessing any of your streaming services or casting your own device. So unless you speak fluent Spanish, which I suspect very few guests will, they are of no use. Updating the television in at least the lounge would cost a quarter of one weeks rental. I think this should be done. Lastly and very importantly you will need to factor in an additional 10% to have the pool heated. I don't know what it is like in the hotter months but we visited in November and the pool was so cold it was unusable. If you request to have it heated after you arrive keep in mind that it takes 2 days to get up to temperature. Still cool but pleasant.

Villa Dara exceeded our expectations. The villa is spacious with seamless transitions from indoor to outdoor living with plenty of options for gathering together or for curling up for quiet time. The pool area and views are spectacular. We were met on arrival by Leonard an it was always a pleasure to see him on the days he came to clean the pool. Elizabeth provided a wonderful assortment of essentials - coffee, juice, crackers, cereal as well as some personal care items. This was especially appreciated since we arrived in the evening and this allowed us to wait to go get groceries. The house was immaculate and the interim cleaning was greatly appreciated. The location was perfect for us. We spent 2 weeks at Villa Dara and while it had easy access to the southern beaches and all of those amenities, we could get anywhere on the whole island in less than an hour. Elizabeth could not have been a better host! Any time I reached out to her, she responded quickly, helpfully and was always lovely. We travel extensively and rarely return to the same destinations, however all of our party agreed if we ever return to Gran Canaria we would definitely stay at Villa Dara again.

Really the home was perfect for us. Improved linen and pillow quality would make it a 10+
