If you're looking for a long-weekend break-away, this is great. It's deep in the bush. There's a big camp where you can do self-drive safaris (though there's cattle between the game), well kept pool, a games room in the loft area of the entertainment facility. Some interesting birds around the facilities (added some to the life-list). I got the impression it is an ideal venue for a family breakaway where parents, aunts, uncles, grandpa and grandma and all the cousins can come together for a big family reunion. However it is close to the border post and a couple other guests were merely overnight guests crossing the border.

It is HOT. The average temperatures were a good 10C higher than Gauteng, and we were underprepared and ran out of cold drinks a day before the end of our stay. The nearest grocery store is 90km away, but we found a local cafe which provided some relief that we were willing to settle for. It is also much further away from Gauteng than we initially thought, but that's mostly my fault for not checking properly. Lots of mosquitoes. There's commercial farming activities nearby, but you don't hear it.

This was our first Lodge on a five self drive of Botswana and Namibia. This lodge is absolutely outstanding, well equipped for self catering. Great little lodge that has lots of animals around it. The rooms were so lovely and traditionally made, with an inside and outside shower. It was perfect!!!
