Nowra Studio Barn

We wanted somewhere clean, green, quirky and colourful to offset Nowra which when you only know it as a drive-through destination from the south coast up to Sydney, seems none of those things. It was very quirky and colourful and the host had gone overboard to provide information, a warm welcome, all the facilities you might need for a stay and an easy check in and out process. What did we like? So many things. The space. The light through the room is lovely and we enjoyed the changing blue to thunder grey skies through the sky-light, the bed was so comfy we are looking into buying our own Koala brand mattress and the shower was large and wonderful after a long days walking. All the furnishings, crockery etc are of great quality.

Aspects of it could have been cleaner - we did contact the host who remained friendly and reassuring. And this is not a 'dont like' it is just an observation, there is no-where to put anything - luggage or toiletries - as the host generously includes so many items that I have never seen included in stay-rooms before (including sunscreen, bandaids, toothpaste and Q tips) even the vanity cupboard is full of provisions. So where do people put their own travel stuff? We just lived out of our bags on the floor. Again, not a 'dont like' as we were only there 2 nights and there is plenty of clean floor space. But maybe a couple of luggage racks or a chest of drawers would be nice for longer stayers.

The location is great. The Barn has everything one needs & is styled nicely. Super clean, very bougie. Great coffee & helpful guest guide!

The backyard was a bit overgrown & could do with a Spring workout. Beautiful smelling lime tree out front

The quirkiness of staying in a barn. Ease of access and parking. Central location.

Lack of shelving in the bathroom. Having a comfortable outside area to sit. Some information about the area i.e. things to do and places to eat.

Very comfortable accommodation, well looked after in a quiet location close to town.

The bed was a bit hard and some instructions for using the tv would be welcome.

Not as clean as we would expect, grit on the floor, dirty toilet brash, a lot of dust around including a dusty pile of magazines. We found the property a bit impractical, there was a washing machine with nowhere to dry the washing. No shelves in the bathroom. Skylights with no blinds so get light in the room very early in the morning . The welcoming booklet was full of dos and don’ts including only use the air conditioning when necessary! The check out was asking a bit too much, including emptying the beans. It is not really a barn, it is a converted garage. Street parking is not a problem just a bit odd as there is a parking space outside the room but not to be used apparently .

Lovely little studio in a central spot. The barn had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and was super comfortable.

It would have been nice to have a table and chairs out the front (and to have been told that the barn opens to the street so it’s not as private as advertised)

A beautifully decorated space, on a quiet street. The host was great at communicating prior to my arrival and I really enjoyed my stay.

There's quite a large step up into the shower which may be a problem if you have mobility issues.
