Jungle Paunch

This is such a special place, one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed. Highly recommend! It's like staying in a treehouse, with the jungle all around. So relaxing. Kitchen was great, and I really loved the shower with the open window looking out through the trees. Owners are super lovely and have worked really hard to make sure the place fits in with its environment. I hope to stay again sometime in the future!

Wifi was a little iffy sometimes and lots of bats on the ceiling above the balcony, but these were super minor. Amazing place!

We had a fun experience in the jungle. Jane was so accommodating, the perfect hosts. The monkeys howling in the morning, the sloth traveling down the vine 6 feet away from us on our porch, the coolest ! A bit damp and buggy but that's the jungle. Jane and Maxi had a dream and made it come true. If you want a truly unique experience you need to stay at Jungle Paunch

Wood cabins inside jungle. Howler monkey chorus, beautiful birds. Beautiful walks to empty white sand beaches, Surfer bars and restaurants nearby. Maxi and Jane v.helpful.

Maxxi and Jane were such great hosts. Jungle Paunch is a fantastic place to stay, and I would absolutely come back to this place. It's right down the road from the ocean and within walking distance to a few restaurants. The howler monkeys are loud in the morning, but it's exciting to be able to stay in nature and experience it so closely. Overall, you are instantly relaxed when you arrive at Jungle Paunch.

Incredible and kind hosts, Maxi took us to the beach to show us the best places to surf and how to safely get in and out. It is a wonderful casita lodge in the middle of the jungle but 5 minutes from everywhere you need. Maxi and Jane even lent us bicycles to ride around - looking forward to staying here again

Very neat lodging - very well integrated into the surrounding jungle. Loved the emphasis on environmentally friendly aspects. You will be in nature here. Very helpful hosts!

Be aware that the location is quite a distance from Bocas Town. The road is only paved to Skully's, and then it is a very rough dirt road from there to the Jungle Paunch. You will be reliant on taxis here or you will need to rent e-bikes or ATVs.

It is truly in the jungle but also very close to beaches, nice restaurants and a spa. It is very simple and nature friendly. It is about 10 min taxi ride from Bocas town so it was more relaxing and quiet. There is no A/C but a simple fan was sufficient to keep us cool. You can hear ocean waves and a lot of wild life including howler monkeys. The hosts, Jane and Maxi are very friendly and easy going. Overall, it was very comfortable and there was no rush.

This is not specific to this property but they use rain water and when we got there, the area was experiencing power outage. It was brief but there is no running water during power outage. There is hot water but water pressure is on the lower side. It didn’t bother me and I think it is what to expect when you go to a tropical island. You give up the modern conveniences, but you can find true relaxation.
