Villa Samar

Four of us (adults) hired the Villa Samar in Cala D’Or in Majorca from 21st to 28th June 2025, via Booking.Com The Villa is situated in a quiet part of Cala D’or and only 10 a minutes-walk from many bars and restaurants, and 20 mins from the marina and is close to a busy beach. It has a great pool, and it is certainly large and can cater easily for 8 adults.

• No welcome pack showing us how to set the alarm, how to empty the rubbish to a dumpster / wheelie bin etc • If you arrive late, there is absolutely nothing in the villa, like water in the fridge for example. Some villas we have been to before, have had at least a couple of 2ltr bottles of water until you can get to a supermarket • No safe (not that we could find) • Intermittent air con (ac) in the bedrooms, no ac anywhere else in the villa ie kitchen or lounge or reception areas • Doors and windows are wooden and are original (perhaps 30 years+) which would not shut properly in the bedrooms upstairs (which possibly lead to the ac problems) • We had to clean the pool side on the 1st morning as there was an abundance of bird droppings around the pool • Showers are above the baths and extend from the taps – very old. No walk-in over-head showers • Plug surrounds, and taps are showing their age, as is the wall and floor tiling • Water pressure was very low, on our 3rd day we had to call the management company as we had virtually no pressure in the showers upstairs. This made hair washing difficult for the ladies. • To be fair to them the plumber came out within the hour (early evening). He removed all the tap filters and came the next day and replaced shower heads • Bedrooms have old, outdated curtains and bedlinen (although it was clean linen) • Pool side furniture and cushions are faded and worn, the pool side coffee table was broken

Huge Villa with fantastic pool. Good amenities. Great location 5/ 10 mins walk from beaches and bars/ restaurants. 15 mins walk from Marina.

Pressure in some of the showers not great No safety deposit, despite information saying there was.

location excellent, outside space excellent. large Villa. we will definitely return, as walking distance to both harbour and old town bars and restaurants

no welcome pack in Villa. electric plugs sockets not always easy to use. bathrooms probably need up dating at some point. no safety deposit box or alarm at property.
