Das Essen hat Verbesserungspotential, vor allem die Hauptspeise beim dinner ( panfried shrimps) war ohne Geschmack und hatte Kantinenniveau.

Die Hohenstein Lodge ist getragen von ihrem außerordentlich freundlichen Personal, den wunderbar ausgestatteten Räumen und der durchdacht gestalteten Anlage. Ganz auf den Gast abgestimmt, finden sich mehrere Bereiche, in denen man sich wunderbar aufhalten kann. Tierbeobachtungen sind leicht möglich. Die Küche ist außergewöhnlich gut, wir haben hervorragend gegessen..

Expected a bit more at the price point (compared to similar properties I stayed at in Namibia at lower price points with same or better offerings). Just implementing some attention to detail moves would go a long way. For example I expected lotion and conditioner and a trash can in the bathroom, also there was a tissues box but it was empty. I ordered a dry martini which in the write up description on their printed menu said exactly what was in it, gin included, but got a drink made of only two mixers triple sec and vermouth, yuck! Had to explain to them the ingredients of a Martini. Breakfast à la carte also didn’t hit the mark, the coffee tasted burnt and there were no offerings besides drip coffee. I know it’s a remote location, 30 minutes down a dirt road from the grocery store but if they can get smoked salmon in daily, I’d honestly just prefer good coffee, good Greek yogurt and good local ingredients as opposed to far off “fancy” ingredients. We also ordered the fruit smoothie which was the strangest smoothie I’ve ever had. They just blended up seeded grapes and apples in a blender, seeds and all, it was very crunchy and nearly inedible. The shakshuka had no spice or flavor to it at all (menu said it came with harissa but it didn’t and there was no hot sauce at buffet), it was just peas and collard greens with partially cooked eggs on top. The croque monsieur was far far too rich, my partner could only take a couple bites, we love rich flavorful food but it was just so salty and buttery in every bite. Two extreme ends of the spectrum. Overall it’s gorgeous facilities and top notch building materials were used, just needs a little more ironing out of the details.

Wunderschöne Lage inkl. Blick auf ein Wasserloch! Die Lodge machte einen nahezu neuen Eindruck, alles war super sauber und gepflegt! Sehr nettes Personal! Fahrräder können kostenlos ausgeliehen werden!

Mein Sohn und ich hatten eine wundervolle Nacht in der Hohenstein Lodge! Zum Glück waren wir schon am frühen Nachmittag vor Ort (Zufahrtsstraße von Swakopmund eher für 4x4 Fahrzeuge gemacht) und konnten so die schöne Anlage und Angebote nutzen. Unsere Tour mit den kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellten Mountainbikes wurde durch ein Gewitter abgekürzt, das Licht und die Stimmung waren dadurch noch schöner. Unglaublich nette Damen an der Rezeption! Vom Pool aus konnten wir Gnus und Springböcke beim Trinken beobachten. Wir kommen gerne zurück.
