Quinta do Candeeira

Freshly cooked eggs from their own chickens and fruit from the garden . Peaceful location and generous hospitality and the most comfortable bed and luxurious shower .

Arrived for 2 nights stay and noticed how clean and spacious everything is, garden, swimming pool, tennis court, terrasses, parking, rooms, stairwell.. and how friendly and welcoming the hosts are. I had a large and very clean room with lot of space. Being the only guest on arrival, the owner and manager invited me to have a great Portuguese dinner with them on the terrace while the sun was setting. A very very nice place to stay. I am looking forward going back and spend some more time there.

It was a true pleasure staying at the quinta. Viviana and Carlos, our hosts, were above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience: showing us around the property, sharing with us their knowledge on plants, farm animals and more, offering us to try new and delicious fruits (like a melão-pera, who new?), etc. The salt water pool was at a delicious temperature, the gardens were so beautiful and the bed, super comfortable. The location is very close to the beautiful medieval castle of Santa Maria da Feira, a must, and to other places of interest like Aveiro and of course, Porto. It was so nice to have fresh-laid eggs for breakfast, and to wake up to the sound of church bells and roosters! Finally, it was not clear on the description if we were going to have access to a private bathroom, but we did: the property has four bedrooms upstairs and two full bathrooms. If you rent only one room, they leave the one next to it free, so you don't have to share a bathroom... convenient!

For me this was part of the experience and didn't mind it at all, but do bring a pair of earplugs if you don't want to wake up super early to the sound of the early roosters ;)

A little bit isolated location - would need to drive to get to restaurants or shops. We did hear what we think was the owner yelling at the receptionist after breakfast which was a little unpleasant

Nice, warm welcoming. We got a tour of the in- and outside of the Quinta. The room is very modern and spacious. The bathroom is seperated from the room, but they make sure you are the only ones using the bathroom. Maybe it’s an idea to put an extra door in the hallway so the bathroom becomes totally private. Now, you have to walk through the hallway to get to the bathroom. The outside is very lovely. It’s a little farm with a lot of animals. The swimming pool was warm. There was also a pool table. You get a key of the gate and the side door, so you can get in at any time.

The breakfast was’t extensive, but it was nice!
