Great stay! The game drive included with a 2-night booking was a lovely surprise. Super peaceful and remote, exactly the kind of escape you need. Love the main building with the fireplace at night and entertainment options, and the heated pool is a nice touch too. The check-out time is also later than most places, which is a great bonus!

The road to get there is gravel, which can be a bit rough. The room furniture feels a bit outdated, and the cleanliness could do with some improvement.

Food was exceptional, staff was very accommodating and very friendly, on arrival the toilet was leaking and aircon not working, they immediately sent housekeeping and it was fixed in no time. Unfortunately with the thatch roof there were animal droppings on the floor and on the bed. The lighting was poor, couldn't read in the bed. I would have appreciated a small hand soap at the washing basin, just for washing hands, there was only a shower gel in the shower and we had to constantly move it from one place to the other.

Road is not for small cars

We love Schrikkloof and came back as we appreciate the staff who cares about the clients particularly, Patrick, Moses, the Chef and waiters who alsways make us feel in our extended family. We highly appreciate the game drive in the quiet landscape of the valley surrounded by hills and mountains and the knowledge of the game ranger. We love waking-up to the sounds of the lions roaring and having our tastebuds awakened to delicious meals.
