Aladdin Desert Camp - Mhamid Erg Chigaga Escape

This stay was the highlight of our trip. We started off getting picked up from Zagora, leaving our rented car at their partner location Camping Palmeraie d'Amezrou. Our car felt very safe to leave there. Our driver Euness was excellent. Easy to talk to and very accommodating. He was always willing to stop to let me take photos with my camera and gave us a great tour around the national park area. We were lucky enough to spot Ostriches and Gazelles. We had a long drive to Midelt on the day we left and we needed to leave early in the morning, and Euness had no issue accommodating that. The quiet of the camp was a very welcome change of pace from the chaos of the cities, we felt very relaxed and it was very quiet. We were welcomed by various staff and the owner of the property. All the food provided was delicious, the wifi was great, and having a private shower out in the desert was very nice. There was many options to just relax, they had swinging chairs, communal seating areas, seating right outside your tent, and an accessible rooftop terrace on top of where the dinning area is. There are only a few other camps nearby so the dunes felt more isolated, were cleaner (less footprints, tire tracks, etc.) and you had it more to yourself than if you went to Merzouga. At first, I wasn't necessarily interested in the night time drum session (I tend to avoid things that seem touristy or performative), but it was actually very fun and I'm very glad we watched. Hamzah and Salah were both great on the drums and you could see how much they were enjoying it. It gave you some time to really sit down, talk to them, and get to know them a little without things feeling transactional like in the cities. A more genuine experience. And the music itself was great of course. And of course, the desert itself was beautiful and right at the edge of the camp. The starry night sky was beautiful and unmatched. Sorry to any staff if I misspelt your names!

Everyone was very helpful and friendly, nothing was a problem. Above all, my guide and driver Aissa was great. I mustn't forget the excellent cuisine of Salah, who always had a smile on his face.

That my vacation is ending and I have to leave.

Trajet génial avec Aïssa, très gentil et ponctuel, avec qui on a pisté autruches et oryx sur le chemin. Le camp est très bien placé, la chambre confortable et tout le personnel était accueillant !

Le personnel très sympathique et à l'écoute, emplacement super entre les dunes, les chambres offrent le maximum de confort que vous pouvez avoir vu l'emplacement...

Geweldig camp ver in de woestijn. We hadden full toer met 2 nachten (doen), opgehaald in Zagora, dan via dorpjes uiteindelijk 1,5 uur (~60km) de woestijn in met een 4x4. Top oudejaarsavond met muziek en champagne. De dag erna 4x4 met een gids nomaden bezoeken, oases en lunch op een tapijtje. Einde dag nog op een quad en kamelen toer en een 2e overnachting. Allemaal aanrader. Het kamp zelf is prima. Huisjes van binnen helemaal bekleed, met douche en toilet. Heerlijk gegeten en ontbeten. Een stilte in de woestijn die ongelofelijk is, en prachtige sterren in de nacht. Aardige eigenaar en hele vriendelijke staf. We hebben genoten en vonden het elke euro waard.

Douche heeft wat variatie in warm/lauw, maar we waren er in de ‘winter’ en het was overdag toch rond de 20 graden, maar in de nacht rond 0.

Ho apprezzato molto la cura verso i clienti e l’attenzione verso l’esperienza. Il camping è posizionato in un punto strategico in modo da permettere ai visitatori di godersi tutte le sfumature del deserto ed arrivare fino alle dune che sono il simbolo del deserto. Il personale è fantastico!
