Bungalow Portos with amazing privet garden

Very nice garden. Perfect place to share with a friend, because of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Perfect place in town, more quiet than expected because of low traffic in the street and few people in the houses around. Two very nice bathrooms, washing machine, dishwasher etc.

Things in the kitchen with glasses, tools etc a little simple. Would be few costs to highen the standard to a good level. My friend and his husband had hoped to come back, but because of not full sized bed, they will find another place. If just one of two beds were full size, things for them would be perfect.

Hosts extremely friendly. Barbara messaged and answered questions in advance via WhatsApp and Caroline messaged us on day of arrival to arrange a time to meet up at the property to show us the bungalow, facilities, and collect the keys. Both extremely friendly and approachable all hol. The bungalow is very well kept. On arrival from the street, look out for gate no99 opposite Rebecca Park Bungalows. The property has 1 internal gate to the complex with pools and 1 external gate direct to the street. As you walk in from the street gate, you the garden, it has some wonderful plants. There's a quiet seating area for 2 on the right as you walk in, next to the exterior utility room. There's 2 sunbeds to the left next to the outdoor seating area. All of this on AstroTurf. The seating area is for 7, if you have friends popping by. That's all underneath shelter, on a tiled floor, next to the main patio door entrance. As you walk inside the main patio door you have a open plan living room with a 3-seater sofa, TV, WiFi, and kitchen. The kitchen has all the utilities you'd expect, induction cooker, combi oven microwave, large fridge freezer, half dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a dusto gucho coffee machine. Check the cupboards on arrival as previous guests leave handy leftover bits like salt, pepper, oil, dishwasher tabs, washing liquid etc... same in utility room. Bedroom1 entrance to the left of the living room is the smaller one, the bed is a double (possibly small double) with a wardrobe each side, external door to the patio and a decent sized ensuite bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Bedroom2 is the larger one with door next to the kitchen. It has a larger double with large wardrobe space plus safe, and a ensuite attached with sink, shower and toilet. There's a set of external doors that open onto the garden. External utility room has washing machine, iron, bord, mop and extra toilet. Great stay, very clean, quiet and relaxing!

Not the hosts fault: outside the street gate, there seems to be a popular corner for people who wish to urinate! Never saw anyone, however the smell as you walk past the corner was obvious, plus evidence. You cannot smell this from the bungalow gardens. Also, be warned if you're staying Spanish Carnival week March, as the younger crowds just use the entire street as a toilet. It's quite disgusting (don't walk between parked cars!). It is cleaned up by local gov day after. Again this is no fault of the property owners and it won't effect your stay at this wonderful bungalow. It's just a one off general public partying at an annual Spanish Carnival and not using a toilet!

Perfect for accessing all the classic cycling routes. Caroline the host was there to greet us and gave us the relevant information. Very helpful and friendly.

beautifully planted and totally private garden. even in January, plenty of morning sunshine. Spotlessly clean, lovely people to deal with. very peaceful despite being a short walk to Yumbo CC.

We found Bungalow Portos to be comfortable, beautifully appointed, and well maintained. The garden really is amazing and made the stay very pleasurable. The location is a nice balance between walkability to beach (1.2 km), shopping, and restaurants and relative quiet. There are bus stops within a few minutes walk and the bus system is excellent. The owner is friendly and responsive, easily contacted via text app. There is good climate control in the unit. Rooms are small, but it is a bungalow after all. We did most of our own cooking, and the kitchen and equipment were workable.

The bed in the larger bedroom was on the hard side. I adjusted, but the wife eventually started sleeping on the couch or in the other bedroom. One suggestion: As we spent a lot of time at the table on the patio (there is no dining table inside the unit), it would have been nice to have something like an attached bamboo curtain or awning that could be lowered to block the sun in the afternoon. There is a patio umbrella that we were able to use somewhat successfully for that purpose, but it was not easy to position. These are minor issues. We would stay there again and definitely recommend it.

The TV didn’t work for standard channels and the Wi-Fi was at best very slow.
