Villa Olive

We loved the location, well away from the coast on a quiet residential road, situated in a gated community. Enjoyed sunsets over La Gomera . Loved the private pool, we paid extra to have it heated, unfortunately we had heating issues which were remedied quickly. The unheated pool available to all residents has several sun beds and is close by. Liked that there were a couple of restaurants and coffee shop within walking distance. Also able to walk to a farm shop. Good covered parking space….room for two cars. We all became fitter walking up and down the hills and steps. The villa also has three flights of stairs (and no handrails.) The manager Erika, was very helpful. To find the property turn left up the slope or steps when going through the gates. The villa isn’t named so don’t waste your time looking…ring Erika.

The master bedroom doesn’t have a door to the bath/shower area. We used the overhead shower once before choosing to shower on the lowest level, as there was an unpleasant smell of drains. Even when we stopped using that shower, the smell persisted. The base of this shower and two others is composed of slatted boards, looks good but a tiled floor or shower tray would be better and allow the drains to be cleaned throughly. The small double bedroom off the lounge has a glass ceiling,this is painted white and covered over with cane fencing. Unfortunately it lets in too much light early in the morning as the sun rises on that side of the property. My daughter bought an eye mask to help her sleep for longer. I noticed that surrounding properties have black matting over their glass roofs. There is a fan in the room as there aren’t any windows that open fully. An instruction manual for appliances would be helpful to take the guesswork away.

The view is amazing and the house is perfect for a relaxed holiday. The host Erika was great and the family was very happy with everything🙂

Aircon didn’t work throughout villa and can get very hot during the day. Some outside furniture broken and dated.

Cleanliness inside

Air conditioning was broken in some rooms and we were only advised of this when we got there. Pool area needs some attention as sharp corrosive metal poking through plaster. Kitchen not very well equipped.
