VILLA LANZAROTE

This house cannot be recommended. Although the architecture is really nice the location is not what has been described (“vista al mar” only at the distance and disturbed by a great construction area right in front) and the dealing with us tenants was very annoying: 1. the contract written in Spanish informed about construction noise caused by the renovation of the neigh-boring house. However, the current construction noise is caused by a new construction site directly in front of the terrace and the outdoor area. Beginning from 7:30 am, the work started by using a jackhammer, so that it was not possible to sleep further or to enjoy breakfast on the terrace! Warning: The entire area around the house appears to be “building land”, so no improvement in the situation can be expected. The most annoying fact was, however, that the contact person at Lanzarote was obviously looking for reasons to keep the 300 euro deposit: the following reasons were found: 1. we only lived in the house with eight people (instead of ten) and invited a further eight people to dinner on the terrace - this was interpreted as a “party” (although no music was played, three of the guests were over 80 years old, and the guests brought chairs so that everyone could sit outside and all left the house before midnight!). 2. A blockage of the sewer system which was detected after a sandstorm and heavy rain (both not unusual in Lanzarote) was attributed to “misconduct” by the guests. In the end - without any proof the 300 euros were not refunded. We ourselves have our own house in Puerto Calero and are there regularly since thirty years. We have often rented various houses in different price categories - we have never experienced such behaviour from any organisation before.

Villa was spotlessly clean and communication was excellent.

a good 15 minute walk to facilities and quite hilly. excellent place to stay if you have a car.
