We stayed in Villa Asta. As a couple it was extremely spacious and well equipped. We loved the sauna and the easy access to the back deck so we could do cheeky snow baths in between sauna sessions. The Villa is situated in a forest area away from town. While there are other cabins nearby it felt quite private and quiet. We didn’t have a car but we found it quite okay; It’s about 30 min walk into town to get groceries, which we didn’t mind because there are plowed, well lit and well signposted walking paths all the way into town through the beautiful forest. There is also a cafe (Laanilan Savottakahvila) about 10-15 min walk into the opposite direction, which again was easy to walk to. You can also catch the ski bus from this cafe. We found the Villa to be warm and cozy. And we loved the large windows that look out into the winter forest.

The property does not include any tea, coffee or extras like washing liquid for doing laundry. This seems pretty normal in Finland so no big deal. Just a bit different compared to typical experiences we have at home. Basically be prepared by bringing your own food or, like us, plan to go to the grocery store immediately upon arrival.

Great host who met us on arrival. The house is wonderfully cosy, everything needed in the kitchen. Brilliant large sauna with access to the terrace to cool off in the cold with a beer! 5 minute drive down the hill to the town / Northern Lights village for the activities and 5 minutes drive up to the top of the fell for the ski resort. Saw the aurora from the terrace on the final night. We loved our stay! Kiitos !

Stunning home. Comfy bedding. Less than 5mins to shops and slopes. Well appointed kitchen. Friendly host who provided great instructions on check in. Very clean. Great washing machine and dryer.

Extra hand towels in the bathrooms would have been handy and some kitchen cloths for wiping benches. Not enough firewood - the amount supplied barely lasts 30mins. No sound proofing so it was fairly noisy with a house full of people. Showers were so small and water everywhere that they were impractical so we all used the sauna showers.

The villa simply exceeded our expectations. The owner / contact could not do enough to help us - everything we asked was sorted. The villa has every amenity you would need and is so cosy and beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. We loved it for our 4 nights visiting in December 2024. Perfectly located as well. We would definitely like to visit again.

Lovely spacious lodge, in the middle of residential area, which wasn't touristy or commercial at all. Great place for families. Though it was a 2mile walk from village centre. Which we didn't mind, because we love walking. Just put the kids in sleighs and pulled them along. Lovely evening strolls back to the lodge. Used to get the ski bus into village from laanila, which is just 900m down the road.

We absolutely loved this villa. Natasha was the most wonderful host. Meeting us past 11pm for a late check in, saving us when we locked ourselves out and that's before we get on to the actual villa. It was in a perfect location, close to the village whilst feeling remote too. It was exceptionally well equipped with kitchen utensils, linens etc. The sauna was great and the dryer for snowy clothes a god send!
