Villa Huilinki

This is an exceptionally beautiful cabin located at a quiet large lake. The hosts were wonderful and had the cabin stocked with herbs, oil, vinegar, coffee etc. . We were allowed to use the boats, fishing equipment, fat bikes etc. The sauna is great on cold days or after long hikes. During 3 out of 5 nights we observed the Northern lights over several hours. I would return in a heart beat!

This was our second stay. It was even better than our first with the addition of four Reindeers which we could feed with food provided by Terhi. We love the villa and remote location. We especially love the peace, the scenery, the sunrises, frozen lake at your doorstep, hot tub to fire up each night and sit and look at the stars (or Northern lights, if you are lucky - we saw a strong show on our last night (Terhi sent us a message to alert us) and weaker show on the horizon on 2 or 3 other nights). WE also enjoyed walking to the river to watch the sunsets and try fishing (fishing equipment is available in the garage). And visited the sledging hill at Honkivaara near Ranua 3 times during our stay - using the Kota's there to warm up, cook sausages and marshmallows with the free wood provided. The villa interior was as lovely as before, with comfy beds, excellent heating, great sauna and beautiful views. I love the coffee machine and waffle maker. There are now two double beds downstairs and a new sofa (plus two single beds) upstairs + PlayStation 4, as well as Xbox 360, which my boys loved. There were even more sledges, snow shoes, ski shoes this year + the usual small hill next to the lake for sledging.

Hosts were so welcoming and villa was beautiful we had everything we needed and more.

Two saunas, a hot tub, bicycles for the kids, bicycles for adults, a kid's playhouse, a swing, a sandbox, plenty of toys for the kids in the house, PS, XBox, pedal boat, motorboat...

In the middle of nowhere, but we knew that when we were making the reservation.

A lovely mökki in a very private location by a lake. The owners came to meet us and explained everything, even which berries are the best to pick. There was so much to do (from hot tub through an outside sauna to a sup board, and much more) that we hardly wanted to go out and see things. Spent two super pleasant days there and hope to come back some day.

We liked everything. Maybe not the Halloween-themed textiles which we thought were not in harmony with the general relaxed feel of the place. But this is just a matter of taste and hardly worth mentioning.

Excellent location, comfortable and well-equipped cabin. Friendly hosts. Value for money.

A popular cabin showing signs of some wear and tear. They should update and fix worn out furniture to stay on top.
