Didn't like the workmen standing in front of the window and the noise at 9am. Had to keep the bedroom curtains shut at times.

Super location, 5 mins walk to the arch at South Street and 1 minute drive to M&S foodhall and Aldi. The house had everything you needed and was well equipped for our family weekend. It was really cosy once it warmed up. Decor and living spaces felt very homely, especially living room, kitchen, dining room and master bedroom. On the whole, a really lovely, inviting property and we would recommend it to others, despite a few niggles.

Absolutely freezing when we entered the property at 4pm on the Friday-certainly wasn't a "warm welcome" to the house. Took all night for the house to heat up, after having to Google how to work the heating thermostat (we also had to go out and purchase 2 more bags of logs as just could not keep the living room warm on the 1st night) By the morning the property had heated up nicely and we were able to turn down the radiators but on the 2nd night it seemed that the heating had been remotely "locked" meaning we couldn't alter it without a passcode..... Again, on the Sunday morning it was cold and we even had to light the fire at 7am on the day we left. Floor boards, door handles and hinges extremely squeaky and as doors were fire doors, they closed shut really loudly if you didn't hold onto them, meaning once 1 person was up, whether it be through the night or in the morning, everyone was awake as they made such a noise-This was annoying. Top bedroom bed really squeaky. Not enough hot water for 6 adults to shower or for a bath. Think we managed 2 showers in the mornings and then the other 2 were luke warm or cold. Pressure pretty poor. Before leaving, we did read that you could alter the pressure on the boiler, so that may have made a difference but we didn't try it. Front bedrooms very damp, especially the small one. Water running down walls, bedding near outside wall and clothes in suitcase, felt damp to touch so kept windows open a little.

I didn’t receive the email with the access code to open the key box until 40 minutes after check in time. This was pretty upsetting after driving for 5 hours and not having any way to communicate with the owner
