Lovely property with everything you need

Location is a little out of the way , perfect if you plan to stay in the village

The lodge was very well equiped with averything that anyone could need. It was well maintained, cosy and comfortable. The veiws from the lounge were spectacular when the rain stopped Dealing with the hosts was very easy and all questions were answered quickly before our visit, they went above and beyond to help in any way

We were travelling with our Grandson and although there was a dog bed for visiting dogs, access to a travel cot for children would have been useful

The location was off the beaten track which meant we had the most awesome views from the balcony and the entrance. This set the mood for the whole holiday. We kept saying where's the camera I must take a picture. We visited places in the area and the local pub had good meals. The accommodation was more than big enough for a family of four and if you decided to use the sofa bed it would still be huge enough to accommodate the extra person. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We didn't plan on doing much cooking but if we wanted to there was more than enough pots and pans.

What can I say, we knew before we got there that it was off the beaten track but even off road it was more than acceptable.

1st 3 nights the en-suite bathroom had a very nasty smell(possibly shower drain) to which we had to buy some cleaning product to try and eliminate the smell so we could comfortably sleep. Some of the fixtures ( i.e curtain tie back hooks,kitchen blind tie) are loose in the wall. could have done with a smaller saucepan

Charged £25 for not stripping 2 beds classed as damage! This totally spoilt break.No local facilities or welcome hamper.

Large, well equipped and comfortable. Great bathrooms and beds. Loved the terrace.

Bit of a let down was bring your own towels

Well equipped and very comfortable. Quiet location with lovely views of the countryside. Several good pubs within 10-16 mins drive. Swimming Pool looked good but didn’t try due to bad weather. Plenty to visit around 30-45 mins drive. Perfect place to relax away from it all. Sarah was super helpful and promptly replied to any questions we had. All in all, we had a great time and made some wonderful memories.

You need a car. It is remote and that is part of its charm. Bring the food and supplies you need. Nearby village c8 mins drive has a well stocked community shop but limited opening hours. Nearest supermarket is 25 mins away. Nearest town with pharmacy etc is Barnstaple, 30 mins away. The narrow Devon country lanes can be a bit of a challenge, specially as we had bad weather during our stay.

The property was lovely and clean and in a very, very quiet location. We wanted a quiet location to use as a base away from the hustle and bustle.

The only downside is that you need a car to travel as it’s in a quiet location with no shops, bars within walking distance. We were fully aware of this before we booked so no problems.
