Fairview Cottage Watford

The house was airy and spacious with lots of lovely natural light, located on a quiet street. We were able to make good use of the laundry facilities and the owners were generous in providing plenty of consumables - toilet paper, roll towel - as well as linen, tea towels etc.

Unfortunately we found the bed in the second bedroom uncomfortable. It was little and far too soft on one side. We also needed to buy our own frying pan as the cooking utensils were badly worn and didn't meet our needs. I was happy to do that, but there was little we could do about the beds.

The location in relation to London, Cambridge, Windsor and Thorpe park is excellent. It is very close to a railway station (walking distance with trains to London) and near a very nice park at which you can get a great coffee, lunch/diner and includes a playground (with water features) for children. The washing machine, dish washer, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer worked great. The beds were perfect, comfortable and clean.

We are of the opinion that the house should have been cleaned better before our stay. In general, the maintenance of the house is lagging behind a bit.

The area and place was lovely and quiet. We had a lot of space and it was just perfect. I would book it again.

Unfortunately we had a bit of an ant problem. It wasn’t nice having ants all over the kitchen floor and counter. Maybe that can be dealt with in the future.

Overall the location was good, affordable property and the host was very helpful upon one of the problems we encountered.

The property had only one toilet and also the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable.

it was a breeze. Nadir sent us ample information to access the lock box as well as to familiarise ourselves with the local area, the house and its facilities and we had his telephone number in case of emergencies, which we did not need of course. There were 6 of us at the house and it was really special for all of us to hang out with our cousins and enjoy this experience. We sat around the breakfast bar counter most days eating, drinking and telling stories!

I think the shower was a bit temperamental and it wasn't powerful enough. Otherwise, all good!
