"Lovely stay for all year round and will recommend to others"

9.0

Loved that whilst the property was clean with modern touches, it very much held true to it's historical charm. Perfect location in old Portsmouth.

The garden was splendid, but just missed a trick by not having table and seating for 4. Whilst the dining room is an excellent alternative in cooler months, the kitchen and garden didn't offer the alternative for summer. Only mentioning as it seems achievable by moving a few pots

Beautiful historic home opposite the Cathedral. Car parking on the road. Host kindly met us.

Back door lock was tricky to open. Otherwise it was a beautiful home to stay in.

"Fabulous, special property in a perfect location"

9.0

Beatifully decorated house. Lovely bedrooms and sitting room in particular. Great decor, very much to my taste and oozing style. Great views of the cathedral, a very atmospheric location. Overall, a place that feels really special. Well equipped kitchen and a nice garden too. Location is perfect in old Portsmouth close to the docks, Southsea seafront and with restaurants, pubs etc all close by. Smooth check-in. Great value.

Having to leave!

"We felt privileged and excited to stay in such a lovely home."

10.0

Exquisite furnishings in beautifully restored historic townhome once owned by Captain Hardy who served with Admiral Lord Nelson. Beautiful rose garden with seating. Views of the tall harbor mast feature that lights up at night, and a marina. Next to Portsmouth Cathedral. Walk to pubs and old harbor or short taxi to HMS Victory and Mary Rose museums.

The townhouse naturally has bedrooms upstairs, so luggage must be carried up. We decided to leave our very large luggage downstairs.

"The house is the star. The decor is beautiful."

10.0

The 260 year old 4 story home has been lovingly restored to a very high standard. It is across the road from Portsmouth Cathedral and we parked right outside. The location was perfect to explore Old Town Portsmouth. There is a great pub across from the cathedral called The Dolphin which has great food and a very talented barman. The walled garden out the back is lovely.

The stairs are quite narrow so we left our luggage downstairs and only took out what we needed for our stay. The top loft level ceiling is too low for practical use as a TV room. Tall people need to be aware that some of the light fittings are low.
