Everything. Greek hospitality far exceeds nearly everywhere I've been before: From Manolis the host meeting us at the port and getting us a boat taxi to the apartment to the wonderful hosts at the local Four Seasons club who treat you like an old friend. There was wonderful food that was put in the fridge while we found our feet, a welcome meal at the four seasons, fast internet, and of course the port of Hydra itself was wonderful. We left wanting to come back, and we are very grateful for the wonderful experience.

The port of Hydra, which is where majority of restaurants / evening bars are, is a ~45 minute walk away. The walk is beautiful, a gorgeous coastal path, but it is quite a distance over different surfaces. If there is anyone who struggles to get about, this could be really hard for them. There are boat taxis at €10 for a return trip, but these stop at 11pm, so if you stay in the port later than this, then get prepared for a walk! Would also say, being in a quiet area, pretty much in the desert/hills, we saw large hairy caterpillars, the largest garden spiders I've ever seen, and the odd cockroach. This is ultimately part of rural, island life, but important in case anyone has a phobia of these things.
