"Prachtige villa, niet kindvriendelijk"

8.0

"A lovely stay with fabulous views"

8.0

We have stayed in a number of villas across Fiskardo, Tselndata and Katsarata - this was our first time staying in Evreti. I don't think we would choose to stay in Evreti again (just because it felt that little bit too far away from Fiskardo & Maganos for us), but the views were by far the best of any place we've stayed at. Looking out over an unobstructed view of Ithaca and Lefkada was amazing, and we felt really quite close to the sea too (you can actually hear the waves at times). Inside, the air con worked quickly and powerfully, and there were ceiling fans, too. When we arrived, everything inside the house was spotlessly clean (apart from a few ants in the food prep area, but that's probably from earlier guests!). The shower worked well, and the bed was comfortable. My husband loved sitting on the balcony in the morning, reading his book and enjoying the views. Outside, the pool area was nice to sit around and it was so lovely to hear the PLOP every now and then of the olives from the olive tree falling into the pool! The day bed in particular was lovely, and there were some lovely herbs around the villa - plenty of rosemary. We were quite lucky that no one was staying in the adjoining / twin villa, Villa Celeste, for almost the whole time of our stay, so this made it feel very quiet and secluded. On the other side of the villa, as well as in front and behind, are gorgeous wooded areas, with some beautiful olive and cypres trees. We saw large birds of prey hunting on a few occasions, as well as a huge herd of goats passing through on one occasion (the collective sound of their bells was amazing!). We were also visited by a few lovely cats, and in particular there was one beautiful mother cat and her two very young kittens who stayed with us around the pool for the last 2 days.

There was a confusion over check-in time: Booking.com states that it's 14:00, but the owner contacted me by private message to say it was in fact 16:00. The owner was happy to change this to 15:00 for us, and it wasn't an issue for us either way, but just mentioning it in case useful to know for others. The villa is surrounded by woodland, as mentioned above. This is overall a positive for us, but do be aware that this means there are (in our opinion) more mosquitos, flies, ants and other insects hanging around this villa than in other areas higher up the mountainside. Come prepared with some good repellent and a fly swatter, and you will be fine! As mentioned above, the neighbouring villa was empty for almost all of our stay. Two nights before we left, some guests checked into the villa and we could quite clearly hear them because of how close the two villas are to each other. We could hear them on our last evening in the master bedroom too (we are a boring couple who goes to bed at 10 p.m. whereas the other guests were a much more fun-loving group who were up having fun till 2 a.m.!). The pool furniture was looking a little tired and in need of some TLC, and the pool looked a little blackened in the tile grout, but we were staying there at the end of the season so that may be the reason why.

"A charming, rustic old stone cottage with a wonderful view up in the hills of Evreti."

9.0

This is a gorgeous old stone cottage with lots of character The kitchen is extremely well stocked Welcome pack of honey, crispbreads and lovely bottle of wine were appreciated The beds were very comfortable The view, especially from the upstairs balcony is outstanding Our favourite beach was Emplisi which was about a 20 minute drive beyond Fiscardo We ate at the Foki Taverna or at a Taverna in Meganos or Nicholas Taverna amongst others in Fiscardo

A little smaller than expected even though it was not misleading from the pictures. We were 4 adults but it would have been tight for 6. The 2 downtairs bathrooms really only fit 1 at a time. The upstairs bathroom is long but height is very limited and you should be aware of this. In our opinion the pool would not be suitable for children as it is quite deep and only has a ladder to get into it. Location is a little more remote than expected. A car is essential. Walking to the nearest beach (Foki) in our opinion is impossible and was a 10 minute drive The drive into Fiscardo is approx 15 minutes

"A stunning villa in a beautiful part of Kefalonia"

9.0

The views from the property are simply stunning - difficult to think there could be better anywhere. We spent most of our time in the lovely pool or relaxing around it under the olive trees watching the boats cross the blue sea to Ithaca. There was generally a breeze taking the edge off the heat. My elderly parents were with us and were happy to spend nearly all their time here. Well decorated and equipped - the kitchen has all the basics, the beds are comfortable and the air conditioning efficient. The bedrooms are all a good size and it was great to have 3 bathrooms. We liked the regular visits from the property management staff during our stay as they were all very helpful and happy to give us advice. Fiskardo is a 10 mins drive away - a very touristy but attractive town with lots of places to eat and drink and watch the super-yachts arrive and depart. Emplisi beach was delightful - we explored lots of different beaches and hired kayaks, snorkelled and paddle-boarded. Would definitely recommend this villa overall.

We were a group of 6 adult-sized people. Had we wanted to hang-out inside, the living area would not have accommodated us all comfortably. As it was we spent most time in the spacious outside. You really need a car to stay here but driving in Kefalonia is an experience! The roads are narrow and precipitous and drivers (probably the tourists) seem to drive in the middle of the roads. We bust a tyre day 2 and had to drive to Agostoli (1.5h) to replace it. We therefore didn't go too far after that. This wasn't a problem as the villa and local area had plenty to occupy us. The villa description mentions a walkable beach at Evreti. This isn't accurate. We were told by the staff not to attempt the walk due to the dogs guarding the goats. It was also very unclear where the route down would be. Finally the villa has villa neighbours including a twin villa called Celeste. Towards the end of the stay, the group there was quite noisy and the sound travelled.

"A very happy and enjoyable week both very relaxing at the villa itself yet plenty to do in the area."

9.0

Excellent location, very peaceful and quiet area with wonderful sea views.

Very fussy but possibly table to sit at or eat at on the other side of the pool so as to be able to enjoy the stunning views even more.

"Perfect space to relax, away from it all, with stunning views and beautiful villa."

9.0

Stunning views, great location - away from it all but not far from beaches, port of Fiscardo and great tavernas. Very well equipped and beautifully decorated Villa. Communication was excellent and villa was clean and well maintained. Great outdoor spaces for eating, relaxing and lovely pool much appreciated in hot July temperatures.
