"Simply superb, the villa and views are out of this world! We will certainly be back!"

9.0

The views are stunning and the quality of the property renovation is excellent. The location is brilliant, both in terms of its immediate locality (up on the hill away from the main road and very private, yet very convenient to get down to the village) and within the context of the Pelješac peninsula. The bedrooms are all air conditioned and whilst downstairs isn't, the solid stone construction and cleverly designed Dalmatian shutters mean that it was always cool inside despite the 33 degrees Celsius temperature outside. The bathrooms are all tastefully decorated, and there are plenty of them (one downstairs WC, 2x ensuite, 1 large family bathroom. We were two families of 5 and 4, and found that the two ensuite first floor bedrooms were perfect for the adults and the top floor (1x double, 1x twin, 1x bunkbeds plus family bathroom) were perfect for the kids. There are spectacular sea and island views from just about every room in the house. The terrace is a really good size and offers spectacular views both in the day and at night. We cooked in the outdoor bbq/oven (tip: charcoal available at the Tommy mini supermarket in Orebić); this 5* outdoor dining experience would cost a fortune in a restaurant. The terraced garden heading down to the pool has an array of mature plants and trees, with lighting down the path and pool area too so it looks stunning in the evenings. The villa is located about 50 metres from the start of a wonderful hiking trail. Viganj has a more chilled out vibe than neighbouring Kućište - and a lot less windy - and there's a passenger boat that takes you to Korčula old town (Aug 2025: ferry departs from Viganj at 20:00 and then departs from Korčula old town at 23:00, boat trip is 15 mins each way and costs €5 per person each way- far cheaper than a water taxi). Visiting Korčula old town for an evening is a must. For the best red wine, go for Dingač which is only produced from a selected area on the Pelješac peninsula.

Same observations as mentioned in the previous review, however we stayed immediately after that reviewer so wouldn't expect those issues to be rectified so quickly. Overall, the very few minor gripes we encountered did not detract from how special Villa Vista is, and Tonći (the local contact) was quick to rectify what he could quickly. Also, at this price point there's not a lot to complain about, it represents great value for money when you look at similar properties available in the region.

"A beautiful house in a stunning location which just needs some tlc to make it truly amazing."

5.0

The spacious villa is situated in a wonderful location perched on the hillside just above the beautiful sleepy village of Viganj and the gorgeous crystal clear Adriatic sea - 10 mins walk away via a steep concrete road which is easily accessed just down by the swimming pool. From the villa it's 10 mins or so drive to Orebić for grocery shopping and the car ferry across to Korčula island. There's also a regular passenger only ferry over to the picturesque Korčula old town which is well worth a day trip. The slightly more upbeat village of Kučište, a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing, is an easy stroll along the waterfront from Viganj and has some nice bars and restaurants. A network of fantastic well marked hiking trails start just behind the house, leading to some breathtaking views over the peninsula.

Unfortunately the cleanliness and general upkeep of the villa and grounds did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival we found the bathrooms to be dirty and we had to clean the showers ourselves prior to using them. There were crisps in one of the beds, a lot of the cutlery, crockery and pans etc had not been washed properly and the fridges in the store room were also unclean. Some of the fixtures / fittings were broken or damaged such as the oven door which did not close properly, several dining chairs which had broken arms and much of the bamboo shading from the roofs of the pergolas outside the house and down by the pool was missing. Some minor electrical issues were present too - the dishwasher tripped at the fuseboard several times and we were unable to use the lighting down to the pool as one of the light fittings had sparks coming from it (presumably due to water ingress from the storm on the day of our arrival). Although the swimming pool itself was fine and the water nice and clean, the area around the pool was disappointing. A couple of the steep stone stairs leading down to it were broken, the handrail along the edge of the pool area was badly damaged and the large parasol was completely broken and had just been left dumped in a pile in one corner. We messaged the owner who responded immediately and was very apologetic. She advised us that she had contacted the cleaning company they use and that someone would come to the villa and address some of these issues, but sadly this never happened during our stay.

"Blown away by the lovely views and the local area"

9.0

Perched on a stunning hillside overlooking the sea, the villa was the perfect backdrop for our family holiday. The terrace was the best part about it and where we ate every meal. The villa itself is very well equipped and more modern than the photos show (the bathrooms have been redone since they were taken). The kitchen was great for cooking big meals and we enjoyed using the outdoor oven. Pool was ideal too and nice that it was separate to ease safety concerns for little ones. Also loved the local town of Viganj and visited nearby Mokalo Beach a couple of times for sun and sea swimming. We had a few minor issues during our stay at Villa Vista that were dealt with quickly - both the host and the local villa manager were very responsive. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa for a big group holiday!

The location was great for the view and peaceful but the walk back from nearby Viganj isn't for the faint-hearted. Luckily, there is parking down by the seafront (although imagine it would get filled up quickly during peak season). A few other minor issues but these were dealt with/are being considered. Overall, a good experience and a holiday to remember.
