Villa Rimba Ubud

The apartment was lovely and the view was spectacular. The location was peaceful and quiet, the only thing you could hear was the sound of nature outside. Incredibly private. The staff were friendly and did a good job of keeping it clean for us daily during our stay. They provided breakfast when we asked. The staff were a big highlight. The guys were nice and friendly and never made an issue of anything we asked. Communication was just off.

When we got there the apartment wasn’t very clean. The bathroom was full of mosquitos and the entire apartment looked like it needed a lick of paint. The fridge wasn’t clean at all and the place you store the eggs in there was full of dirt and mould. Disgusting and put us off using it at first. The bathroom looked like it needed some maintenance and could have done with an upgrade. The microwave was absolutely disgusting and we refused to use the thing. We bought cleaning products the day after arrived so we could go over everything as it just didn’t feel nice. Sometimes I’d asked for breakfast at a different time as we were trying to make plans to go out and I would try to communicate with the guys about different things in the villa but didn’t get many responses of WhatsApp. That was a little disappointing and meant waiting around sometimes because I didn’t want them to be making breakfast and us just leave. Responses on WhatsApp would have been appreciated as we spent a lot of time waiting around. No one is around at nighttime so you literally have no help if you needed it. The pool was dirty a few times during the beginning of the stay and I ended up removing a caterpillar from the pool and few other bits in the morning if it hadn’t been cleaned. Typically ants everywhere so more seating would be recommended otherwise you’ll defo get bitten. Someone had their cats staying there and as cute as they are. They’re a pain in the bum and we’re constantly begging and attempting to get into the apartment. Problematic when I’m highly allergic so that was frustrating. They kept scratching my son too and he’s got two scars on his face from having cats 4 cats in a place we thought there wouldn’t be any pets.

The room itself is quite modern and large, with a mini bar, ac and a fan. The little love seat was nice to sit in, and the bath room was spacious as well. The second night I got a free upgrade to the Deluxe Villa, which is definitely worth the extra money vs the Deluxe Bungalow. Sadly, the bathtub, while nice and big wasn't really useable because the hot water ran out before it got filled. There's a workable kitchen, though not much in the way of utensils to cook with. I would definitely stay again in a Deluxe Villa, because the area is quite nice. There's beautiful waterfall and two of the Tirta's nearby, only a 40 minute walk to the Tirta Empul that Ubud is so famous for.

My original booking was for the Deluxe Bungalow with the king bed. I chose it because of the round bath tub, hammock and outdoor couch shown in the photos. Sadly, there couch is gone and they've put in a table with chairs. There is no hammock, and the bath tub is in really bad shape, it being outside. I cleaned it, but it rained the first night, so it was a mess in the morning and when I went to try and fill the tub, the water shut off, which apparently it does. Also, when I went to get into the bed, there was actually dirt in the bed, which was a little disgusting, but it being a King sized bed, I was able to sleep on the other side, which was dirt free. I ended up being moved into a Deluxe Villa for my second night, due to the water being off, there being no hammock, and I got not sleep because when it rained on the plastic awning that covers the patio it was so incredibly noisy. The staff are only on the property from 8-4, though they are rather helpful when they are there. If I had noticed about the sheets before they had left, they would have changed them with no issue. There isn't much in the way of food close by, which they do warn you of before you arrive.

Fantastic location, and really nice in all aspects: interior /exterior /decoration. I need to highlight how amazing the staff are... So incredibly helpful!!! So grateful for their help in every aspect...Ketut, Agus & Arta are amazing! .

There are a couple of issues however regarding the management/maintenance of the property... The owners need to invest a bit more money towards maintaing property - mainly need to find some serious/proper solutions about humidity. All my stuff (clothes & equipment) were covered fully in mold after 2 weeks of staying there. The staff did everything they could to help me, but it's not up to them. Some serious investment needs to be made towards the property in order for the issue to be solved. However, I still give it 10/10 despite the problem mentioned above, due to: a) The fantastic/quiet location b) the super helpful staff c) the overall beauty of the place.

Amazing place, alone, very quiet, we feel that the while place is for us. Many space and s'est to relax and enjoy in the garden, close to the pool. I really love the atmosphère. I recomande to stay for sûre, the pool with tropical forest view take you in a relax and great mood.
