Villa Veglia

We really enjoyed our stay at the house — it’s even more beautiful than in the pictures. The view from the pool is stunning, and the house was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. That said, there were a few downsides that affected our experience. If you’re sensitive to insects, be prepared: there were a lot of grasshoppers, beetles, flies, ants, and mosquitoes around at all times, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the outdoor areas. Our bigger concern, however, was the lack of privacy. While check-in without the host was convenient, he mentioned he would arrive within 30 minutes to an hour — but only showed up two hours later. This disrupted a surprise we had planned for a friend and made the arrival unnecessarily stressful. We let it go, but were disappointed again when he informed us he’d return the next morning (Saturday, our only full day) to clean the pool filter. Given that our stay was from Friday evening to Sunday morning, this could have been scheduled before our arrival or after our departure. Unfortunately, instead of arriving in the morning, he came at 5 PM and remained by the pool for two full hours. As a group of girls alone at the property, this made us feel uncomfortable and unable to fully enjoy the pool or relax during what should have been the best part of our stay.

Everything was exceptionally clean upon arrival. The kitchen was fully equipped with all necessary utensils, and we really appreciated the dishwasher – even detergent tablets and cleaning supplies were provided. The outdoor pool was spotless and featured beautiful ambient lighting at night, creating a relaxing atmosphere. We loved the view from the villa and the well-maintained outdoor area. There was a spacious covered parking spot for two cars, a large traditional BBQ grill (with both charcoal and firewood generously left by the host), and a full set of BBQ tools. The outdoor area also included a big wooden dining table under a solid roof, perfect for enjoying meals in any weather. Inside the house, we had fresh bed linens, a full set of towels, large wardrobes in the bedrooms, and overall great comfort throughout the villa. The entire house is fully air-conditioned, which made our stay even more pleasant. The outdoor shower was a nice touch for pool days. In short, this is a truly beautiful and well-organized house where nothing was missing – everything was thoughtfully prepared and maintained to a high standard.

Lovely villa. It is in a great location - it is very quiet but only a few minutes, by car, to supermarkets, the city of Krk and beaches. The owner Tom is great - he met us on our arrival and explained everything about the property, suggested places to go and things to do. He texted us regularly to check that everything was OK and to see if we needed any help or advice. Krk island was wonderful with more beaches than we could visit in the 2 weeks we were there.

Clean and tidy, well equipped house, enough place for a family. Quiet neighborhood. The pool was great. Everything met our expectations.
