Construction next to the property that was noisy in the mornings

The area is very rural but we like that because it is calm. Above our room was a huge rooftop where we could see a lot of shooting stars. It was amazing lying on the rooftop and looking in the sky.

We asked if we could rent a scooter and a guy came with one. We should pay 40.000 IDR more than the average and we denied. Then he explained that we have to take his scooter because we wouldn’t find another place where they rent scooters to tourist. In Amed they are afraid that tourists make accidents he said. Of course that was a lie because when we took a walk through Amed everywhere tourists had scooters and a lot of places where they rent some. After our discuss he explained that he belongs to the staff of the accommodation. So we rented a scooter for half of the price at another place. After he recognized that we rented elsewhere he was not polite anymore. While we had breakfast he sat behind us and played loud games at his mobile phone. We booked just two nights but wanted to stay longer in Amed. First we would extend at Blue Gecko but after all this behavior we decided to change the accommodation. On the day of departure he asked when we would check-out. We planned to check-out for 12am like booking said it is possible. But he said no, we have to check out at 11:30am latest because the room has to be cleaned at 12am. We don’t know if they really make it like this or they just wanted to annoy us. In the end they said that two small beers are left in the fridge. We drank them because we thought it would be a welcome cause no one told us we have to pay for it. But they wanted us to pay for it, more than the double price than normal. So we bought new ones at the store for half the price and returned them. While we paid for the room and denied to take the beers they didn’t smile anymore and acting rude. They smashed the change money angry at the counter and didn’t say goodbye.

Super cozy place with beautiful bathroom And super nice smelling soap. 😁 There is fridge, A/C, spacious wardrobe and teapot with tea. Everything smells very nice in the room. Breakfast also very good and hearty. Place in A quiet place And There is good cafe to eat near - KopiKota Amed

From the moment we arrived, we just felt at peace. It was so quiet and relaxed.. no noise of cars and bikes. Cozy and beautifully green garden with a pool on the doorstep. The owner is a wonderful man who is always genuinely friendly and helpful.

Location was a little bit out of centre, but I loved walking on the beach and meeting locals. The host was super nice and did everything to feel welcome. Organised tours, trips and also helped with urgent situations. Everything clean, nice, good pool, amazing roof top view. Wake up for sunrise- it’s perfect on the roof. And if you are lucky, blue gecko will meet u at night 😀😀😀😀
