Villa Shamballa

Breakfast options and the quality of food were great. Staff ensured they delivered breakfast at a time convenient to us and were happy to accommodate any change.

The villa is absolutely stunning—immaculately maintained and beautifully designed. It was a huge villa for two people and we loved the sense of luxury and peacefulness that came with it. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, trying just about everything on the menu, and we were never disappointed. We also stayed in a couple of nights and enjoyed the dinner menu which was also delicious. The standout feature of our stay, however, was the incredible staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind—always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We wanted a quiet, restful week, and Villa Shamballa gave us exactly that. Overall, Villa Shamballa was a wonderful stay and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Ubud with exceptional service.

The villa backs onto a steep hill where traffic noise—especially from loud motorcycles—was more noticeable than we expected and some mornings the sound of traffic drowned out the sounds of the birds and roosters. It’s not a deal-breaker, but if you're looking for total silence, this might be something to consider. That said, the evenings were much quieter, and we were never kept awake—the noise was mostly during the day, while we were reading by the pool. As the villa is very open (which is what I loved), there are no insect screens, so if you are sensitive to mosquitos you may want to be prepared. The staff however, come in at sunset to light mosquito coils, which make a big difference. We also loved the evening appearances from the geckos and frogs which added to the charm of the villa.

Breakfast was included and great every day. The pictures of the property as you can see is stunning. But for me what made this was the level of service provided by all the staff.

The road to get to the villa is very narrow and bumpy, taxis somestimes didnt want to drive down it. The wildlife around you can get loud when trying to sleep, but i guess that is to be expected with the location.

Huge villa with amazing views and excellent amenities. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Quiet location but not too far away from anything. Highly recommend Villa Shamballa!

Beautiful property allowing you to feel at one with nature in 5 star comfort. Friendly but unobtrusive staff welcome you as if it’s your home. The menus choices have something for everyone. This is a place that you will want to return to. Thank you to all the staff and the owners for making our stay so perfectly relaxing.
