In general, it’s a decent villa but needed an upgrade

Kitchen utensils need to replace. It’s unusable. The bathroom need to have a door to prevent humidity and wet floor at the bedroom

The host waited us to arrive at the property, handed us the keys and did a briefing of the property like how to get access to wifi, how to contact the host, how to order room services etc. The rooms are spacious, the villa is facing an empty rice field.

The host did not reply my multiple messages. The addresses provided in booking.com doesn’t have the villa name. We have hard time to instruct the driver the correct address when we check in the villa. There isn’t any shops/ restaurant nearby, you need to get a grab or Gojek to go everywhere. Calling grab food will take forever so maybe it is better to order from the villa’s host if you are hungry. The villa is kind of dated, some towels are very dirty, the cooking utensils are so old which I don’t think you even want to do any cooking. There are mosquito and insects outside, so it’s important to close the door everytime you come out from the rooms. There are leaves and floors on the pool and we saw a lizard fell into the pool, the pool is also very small. So ended up no one want to swim in the pool at all. The pool day bed is dirty as well. There isn’t any door for the bathroom, that make this not a very suitable for family with young children especially if you have a boy and a girl. The lack of door also means that it can make the bedroom very humid/ wet. While there are bathtub in each room, they are directly and one of the bathtubs’s stopper not working. Thus it is not usable. The shower water could also flow to the dry areas and make the whole bathroom flooded and wet. The furnitures are wooden and dates. Lastly, the living room has not air conditioning, and the fan is weak, so it can be very hot. You don’t really want to leave the door opened too as there are flies and mosquito and insects. Well, since this is in a natural area, maybe it’s just hard to keep the place perfectly clean and insects free

There were leaks in the kitchen, loose tiles in bathrooms, and multiple wall plugs that didn't work, the showers also overflowed into the bathroom

We stayed in Canggu then moved to Ubud for the rest of our stay. It was like chalk and cheese - you’re out in the rice fields, it’s so peaceful, no traffic, no people, just you and the rice fields and your wooden house (accommodation). The place is a little further away from town and all attractions so we rented a scooter to get around everywhere which the staff organised for us. Our villa was cleaned everyday and the staff were friendly and ready to help where needed.

They have a very simple menu, very reasonably priced but we didn’t eat there. There was more on offer at a resort down the road. And we spent more of our time there as they had a pool you could relax by where we didn’t have that at Ipian as we stayed in the wooden villa.

Great view, very quiet, clean, love the layout and atmosphere. Go to this place for meditation, or a quiet and relaxing retreat.

Limited parking space for cars.

It is bad that there is no mini fridge in the rooms
