La Mer Deluxe

The villa was generally very good.. nice facilities, plenty of privacy, spacious. I especially enjoyed the delightful cool indoor pool and the sauna, the comfortable sofa and large new kitchen. The kitchen had a good selection of equipment and met most of my needs, for the most part it was very clean. The front deck had a spectacular view and was very sunny and pleasant. I didn't watch it but a smart TV was available and the WiFi was good. It was very handy to have the washing machine and a large drying rack. The bed was not particularly comfortable but the pillow was decent and I was very glad of the full mosquito net surrounding the bed. The steep road was a bit tricky but once I got used to it I had no problem and there was plenty of space to park my Corolla. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller and had no issues with the neighbourhood. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, easy to contact and responded to every issue and request. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to other solo travellers and couples alike, I would stay again.

The place needs a really good deep clean, particularly the gym, hammam and all floors. The drains are very smelly, especially down in the gym area. The extractor didn't work in the landing bathroom. There is no real soundproofing and the bedrooms are adjacent to the nextdoor villa's pool - unfortunately during my stay this was apparently the 'party house' and there was loud music and shouting until past 2am most nights. The kitchen needs a few additional items.. proper scissors, large sharp knife, bread knife and large cutting board. The sandwich toaster needs to be cleaned after the last guest. The back deck is not so sunny and the only space for loungers is the AstroTurf area which is totally shaded, I didn't use this area at all. A few little improvements and this property would certainly be worth the rates.
