Casa Nostra

This was our fourth time on Sao Miguel and third time in Furnas. We are quite thorough in accommodation search and are always happy with the result. This time is no different. We checked review, inspected photos, evaluated location and made our choice. Casa Nostra ticked all our boxes and it is fair to say it even exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent - right opposite to the poshest hotel in Furnas, walkable distance to all mayor landmarks, restaurants and points of interest; three minutes away from a huge free parking (the one near the stadium). The Casa itself is spacious, clean and well equipped, especially for two of us. The WiFi is fast for either work or relax. The view from the garden is very nice. We had our visit in February, the temperatures sometimes were 13-14 degrees, which wasn't problem at all thanks to heating. Master bedroom was quiet and comfy, with enough storage space for luggage and clothes. Photos of the property are accurate.

I would recommend to replace the pans in the kitchen as the ones we used were warped. But this is really a minor issue.

Casa Nostra is an impeccably appointed property containing all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. It is in a perfect location to enjoy all the major sites in Furnas, including the Poca da Dona Beija and Terra Nostra thermal baths. Gilberto, the host, was very responsive and provided great local tips for sightseeing and restaurants. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Bedding not cotton / foam pillows. If you want to cook proper meals, the kitchen would benefit from some wooden spoons, a vegetable peeler, a sieve & knives that have been sharpened.

A beautiful property with exceptional gardens. Everything about our stay was perfect. Great location to explore from.

The house was terrific - all 3 bedrooms were large as were the 3 bathrooms. There was an nice outdoor patio with a table and chairs where we ate breakfast. Everything was very clean when we arrived, the kitchen was well-stocked with plates, utensils, etc and there was even some fruit and local muffins there for us to eat on our first day. The location was great in the middle of Furnas, very close to the Terra Nostra hotel. Almost everywhere we went in the town - restaurants, grocery stores, etc. was within a 1-10 minute walk. There is a fresh fruit store just a few doors down which we went to every day. Our host, Gilberto was very nice and very responsive and even offered us a chance to leave later on our departure day as he didn't have a booking starting that day! Would highly recommend this place!

The only thing to be aware of is that there is no parking at the property but we always found parking on a nearby side street that was a 1-2 minute walk from the house - for us, this was no problem at all.

The apartment was excellent and well equipped. Great location, Terra Nostra Park, supermarket and restaurants within easy walking distance. We would come back!

Parking nearby can be difficult, but it's understandable in such a location.
