If we ignore the owners, the backyard and the pool are beautiful and house has all necessary for a pleasant stay.

We have stayed in Villa Desire for a weekend in August 2024. Unfortunately our stay was one of the most unpleasant experiences we ever had. We were a group of 7 friends in our 30ies, looking to book entire house so we can have our privacy. House was advertised under label entire house, however it was only the ground floor, while the upper floor was a separate unit rented to different guests. You can imagine our shock as well as theirs after we arrived! Since we were coming from different parts of Croatia, I asked in advance for different check-in time which they first refused because they need to validate all our documents at the same time and it isn't convenient to them to come to the house 2 times (they live in a house next to villa)? But when they realized we are locals they let us check in at diffrent times and the owner in the end didn't come until next morning. The house was supposed to acommodate 7 adults, but this isn't accurate. There were 6 beds and one sofa which is an L shaped sofa you can't pull out, so no person taller than 120cm can sleep there comfortably. The property also has a camera, however it's not outside the property as it was advertised, but within it, overlooking the entrance and part of the po and owners are apparently looking at the footage 24/7. The house has a wonderful garden, so on Saturday we decided to make a BBQ and invited 2 of our friends to come over to eat with us. The owner saw it on camera and got so mad he was shaking with anger. He was telling us we're scamming them and that they are sleeping at the house for free, even after they showed him they have their own accomodation nearby. Even after I apologized for not announcing it in advance, the owner continued to threaten to call the police on us.

This was our first visit to Croatia and Villa Desire did not disappoint, it is in a lovely quiet location but nice and close to Pula which can be reached by local bus service if you don’t want to hire a car, the hosts were wonderfully attentive and made us feel very welcome, the pool area is perfect for lazy sunny days and there is so much outdoor space, great value for money.

Nothing that is within hosts control, we suffered a bit with insect bites but no fault of the hosts at all, would just recommend that you bring a good repellent.
