Elixirium villa

It’s quiet. Slightly out of town but no noise and a 10 minute walk to the beach. We hired a buggy & we had a safe driveway to park it overnight.

We are on the final day of our fabulous holiday in Santorini and don’t want to leave this beautiful villa! The host Maroulia has pulled out all the stops making our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Nothing was too much trouble from sorting the hire car out to recommending fabulous eateries. The Villa has everything you need and the pool is cleaned every day. It is only a 5 minute walk to the supermarket and main road where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Would recommend Dorians for cheap drinks and Grandma’s kitchen for the scrummy gyros which you can eat in the bar. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return 🤩

The pool was lovely and a good size. Effective air conditioning, which was much needed when the average daily temperature was 32 degrees. The villa was clean and had most things we needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully furnished. Maroulia was an exceptional host and facilitated an early check in and late check out

The outside table and bench were impractical so dining al fresco was uncomfortable

The house is very well looked after, and decorated with taste and quality. Maroulia clearly takes pride in its appearance and cleanliness. She is an extremely obliging host, going out of her way to help with requests. We particularly liked the two pretty young olive trees in the yard, and the tidy pool area. The view back from the house over the stark mountain behind is striking and peaceful and allows you to imagine a time when the island was less developed. Perissa is a good and more reasonably priced base to explore the island from. The beach is clean with black sand and a lot of package holidaymakers.

The house is set back about 400m from the coastal road from Emporio which terminates a bit further down the coast at the centre of Perissa. We were therefore spared any traffic or party noise while being able to walk easily to the Santa Irini bakery and the small Carrefour supermarket. The beach is conveniently another 500m or so on after the main road, so is walkable. Unfortunately, the area between the main road and the house is marred by abandoned, rusty cars, litter and rubbish, barbed wire and a derelict farm building. However this is not the owner’s fault and is fairly standard in Santorini, which seems to be struggling with waste management in the face of so many tourists. Better for future guests to be forewarned than to get a nasty surprise. Once in the house you are nearly away from this depressing aspect. It would just be good if the eating area of the yard contained some tall flowering plants and other greenery to block the view of the adjacent water station (which is not scenic at all, but not otherwise a big problem).

As a host with a couple of holiday let’s myself I know what goes into making guest experiences special. Maroulia pulled out all the stops. The villa was just what we wanted, away from the hustle and bustle but easy reach to shops and restaurants. My son absolutely loved the pool.

Even that the property was not close to the touristic places, it was a great election because it was far away de crowded places, so it was a very peaceful place. The house is very comfortable, the pool was exactly we were looking for. Carrefour supermarket, a bakery, a bus stop, and places to rent a car and others.

None. But I would love to see live plants outside.

Such a beautiful, clean and well presented villa. The location is a perfect base for exploring not only Perissa but the whole island! No more than 5 minutes walk away from a supermarket, bus stop and restaurant/bars. Maroulia was a lovely host and we will definitely come back!

It was fantastic. Just what our family needed. Pool to ourselves was brilliant. The children could start playing in the water straight away in the morning and they loved it.

This is a lovely villa, beautifully decorated and in a quiet rural setting. It is really well equipped with everything you need for a short stay. The pool and hot tub are amazing and the villa is exactly as shown in the photographs. It is just a 5 minute walk to the local bakery, a Carrefour supermarket (which is well stocked but very expensive) and local restaurants. You can also catch the local buses from here which go everywhere on the island (they are really cheap). Uber is available, but weirdly only at a fixed rate of €36 per trip. The local beach and restaurants are just another east 15 minute walk away. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely spectacular.
