The villa Syblia was very spacious, well equipped, comfortable with lovely private pool and outdoor pizza oven and BBQ pit. The village is quiet and friendly and has lovely walks from the villa. Beaches were a short drive away and the location is good (with a car) to lots of attractions/places to visit.The host, Nektaria, cooked fresh local home cooking for our arrival which was lovely and was very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Would definately recommend staying here.

We had a fabulous holiday here in Douliana, a lovely village, with some nice restaurants & a friendly atmosphere. Our host Nektaria couldn't have been nicer, she was so helpful & generous. She was also very responsive both before & during our holiday. We would highly recommend a stay here, the pool was lovely, the house was clean & it was really nice touch to have a welcome package of food/drink & even some freshly baked Cretan delicacies!! Lake Kournas is nearby & well worth a visit, hire a pedalo to see the turtles on the other side!

We stayed in the larger villa with a private pool. It is a lovely property. The owners Nektaria, Christos and family live around 30 minutes away and they could not have been more generous. In addition to helping with the villa, they also dealt with our car hire company for us when we had a flat tyre and suggested places to visit. Douliana is peaceful and comprises several villas, an excellent traditional taverna, cafes and a small shop. Beaches, supermarkets and sites of interest are within easy driving distance.

Excellent holiday home in a beautiful village in the mountains, not far from Chania. The house has everything you need for a relaxed holiday: well equipped kitchen, spacious living room, fast internet and a swimming pool. But the best part of it are the hosts, especially Nektarina. They take care of you as if you were a personal friend, looking after your comfort and giving a lot of advice about restaurants and sights. The village itself has some good restaurants and there are more in the neighborhood or in Chania. Highly recommended.

Great location in the petite village of Douliana, very local, and not too far off from the main road network. Superb hosts, who greeted us with local and home-made delicacies, toys for our kids to keep them busy, and provided useful recommendations on where we should visit. Thanks to them, our son started writing a daily travel diary, and got a liking for honey and dried olives.

One of the beds was a little too squeeky with every movement.

The hosts, Nektaria and Christos, were amazing. Nektaria was waiting to let us in, and gave us a lovely hamper of local and family-produced goodies(raki, olives, salt and herbs), plus other kitchen essentials. The villa was great and located right next to the swimming pool. The village of Douliana is fantastic and has a couple of great restaurants within a short walk, one located within the Douliana villa complex.

Everything was just fine.

Beautiful and spacious old style house recently renovated, quiet place, amazing views, nice and well maintained swimming pool, picturesque little village with a charming café and a convenient taverna. Host was responsive, attentive, and you can tell they put love in the house and reception so to make guests feel warmly welcomed.

As an Argentine, it was a pity the BBQ was missing the grill, surely this is being fixed.

This property was exceptionally clean and so much more spacious than the photos illustrated. the host was the most welcoming and warm person we met our entire holiday - and we met a lot of fantastic Greeks! She kept in regular communication to ensure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - this was on top of leaving us with a fully stocked fridge and a welcome platter on the dining table.

We stayed at Douliana Villas for a 2 week family holiday and it was perfect. The location is set in beautiful hills with fabulous views and the villas are spacious with everything you need. Nektaria and Christos were the best hosts and welcomed us so warmly. I don’t think we have ever had such a nice welcome anywhere else we have stayed. We will be back for sure and hope to return with friends .
