Villa Kontrada

Villa Kontrada is self-catering but the hosts provided a welcome pack and all of the basics were available including teas, coffees, sugar. milk, salt, pepper, sauces, spices, and even charcoal for the fantastic outdoor barbecue. A car is desirable and you will find fantastic supermarkets nearby. A short walk (5 minutes) to the local small Studenac shop (similar to a local UK Spar) covered all the basics - fresh bread, milk, meats, soap etc. Just over a mile down the road towards Zadar there is a "TOMMY" Hypermarket with cool underground parking and moving walkways into store for your trolley. The shop sells everything! - with a fresh fish and a fresh meat counter as well as a deli counter. The range of products is immense and mostly self explanatory, but little in English. A little further on there is a fabulous LIDL supermarket with a terrific range of produce, and a lot of English sub-titles! The Villa has a fabulous pool and gardens, and is totally private on all sides. We took grandchildren from age 14 to 25 and they loved lounging by the pool and having fun in the pool - which was extremely clean. There is also an outdoor warm shower by the poolside. There is a very well built sturdy covered pergola next to the pool with a long table with bench seating either side for easily eight people. We ate outside every evening and used the barbecue to cook fresh meat and fish. There is a huge (65inch?) TV in the lounge with 400 satellite channels and 200 Antenna channels - but very few in English! BBC world News and a couple of others - but the picture quality was outstanding. The kitchen contains everything to cook full meals including 4 burner halogen hob, full size fan oven, microwave, large kettle, filter coffee maker, and espresso coffee machine! I could go on and on - but you've probably got the gist by now! This place is a gem! Oh!....

Location was perfect, the villa itself was really nice and the pool was great too!
