Villa Castiglione 1863 - The real Sicilian holiday

The house was beautified. All the rooms were extremely comfortable. The views from all the windows were magnificent! Loved it!

Prachtige en rustige locatie! Het leek of we in een museum verbleven zo mooi was alles binnen!

Zelden was ik zo overweldigd door de schoonheid van een plek zoals deze. Het zicht vanop het terras op de magnifieke tuin: de pijnboom met perfecte verhoudingen centraal in de tuin, een massa wilde gele madeliefjes, het witte paard dat daar lieflijk tussen staat te grazen. De geur van de bloemen, het gekwetter van de vogels. Een plek onaangetast door de tijd. Ik had tranen in de ogen toen ik er weg moest.

Villa Castiglione is een gebouw opgetrokken en ontworpen in 1863, en daar moet je rekening mee houden; je moet door de ene slaapkamer lopen om de andere te bereiken, binnendeuren sluiten niet zo mooi aan, piepen wat, de keuken is ook niet zoals je deze heden ten dage zou inrichten. Allemaal logisch natuurlijk

We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Villa Castiglione in Donnafugata with 3 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs, and it exceeded all our expectations. The villa was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very well maintained. Despite visiting in December during rainy and cold weather, the house was warm, cozy, and comfortable, which made a huge difference for our family stay. The host Antonio was welcoming giving us a tour of the property including its history and accommodating, making us feel at home from the very beginning. Communication was easy, and the flexible check-in was greatly appreciated, especially when traveling with kids and pets. We were especially happy with how pet-friendly the property is, our dogs were clearly welcome, not just tolerated, which is rare and much appreciated. There is also a very friendly white horse on the property that the kids loved to engage with. Overall, Villa Castiglione is a perfect choice for families and pet owners looking for comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality in Sicily. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Donnafugata area.

Staying at the Villa was a very authentic experience. The host was amazing - constant communication and help all along. The facilities are also exceptional - the rooms, kitchen, pool area.

Very spacious and light. Traditional features. Terrace for eating meals with views across the countryside . Fabulous , huge private pool with lots of beds and grassy area in the shade We used the recommendations for a sailing trip and cooking class , had pizza delivery and a taxi ordered. All were excellent.

Nothing really. Perhaps a larger shower in the main bathroom would be good .
