Excellent Location close to train station and ten minute walk to the old town.Staff very helpful on check in and check out. Good facilities in Villa apart from air conditioning had everything needed.

Peacocks, Peacocks, Peacocks. Whilst I anticipated there would be a Peacock, I was surprised there was a family of seven that had free reign to the villa patio. On the first afternoon they spent most of their time on the patio outside the two bedroom doors and upon moving to the garden area some went to the toilet on the patio. In the morning after, I was greeted by a Peacock on the settee that again went to the toilet down the cushion. The remainder were on the sunloungers and yes went to the toilet on them. Day 3 a repeat, by which time there was Peacock Poo in numerous places over the patio (beware if in bare feet). This was very off putting and I don’t expect to have to remove Peacock excrement from sunloungers and have to navigate around the same on the patio. Hopefully they did not used the pool….

Gorgeous place to stay. Filipe met us with the keys late at night after our flight as delayed, and showed us round the property. Then every morning he or his wife brought us a breakfast in a picnic basket. They left it outside the door and texted us that it was there. I would retrieve it and my wife and I would have breakfast in bed with the delights they brought. It was delicious and also quite romantic! Sintra itself was fascinating. We were only there for a week and realised you'd need to be there longer to do it justice. If you're feeling fit and energetic, the walk up to the castle and the Palacio de Pena is great - but it is a challenge! The Quinta da Regaleira was fascinating - don't miss that.

It's easy to lock yourself out, as we discovered! Keep the keys with you if you're stepping outside. If the wind blows the door shut you're stuck. Thankfully, Filipe was not too far away when it happened to us.
