The historical aspect with the old style building. Marina was a wonderful and attentive host, organising restaurant bookings and transport to and from the station and restaurants.

I had such a lovely stay at Shirafuji. Such a beautiful historic building with all the modern amenities. It was so relaxing. Beds were so comfortable. And the sunken tub was awesome - it felt like I had my very on Onsen. Special mention to Marian the Host - she was amazing! She was very thoughtful, she definitely puts her guests first. Highly recommend staying here.

Die Unterkunft ist super schön! Tolles Haus im authentisch japanischen Stil! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und alles sieht genauso aus wie auf den Fotos. Es ist eine Ruhe Oase die genau das geboten hat wonach wir gesucht haben! Zusätzlich kann der Service von Marina san (Inhaberin) begeistern! Sie hat uns einfach tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen geben können und ein rundum sorglos Paket geboten mit dem wir nicht gerechnet haben! Auch das Frühstück war sensationell!

An der Unterkunft gibt es nicht zu beanstanden! Suzaka ist eine kleine Stadt, dem muss man sich bewusst sein. Man kann gut in andere Ecken von Nagano reisen und entkommt dem Trubel aus den Großstädten sehr gut.

"A once on a lifetime experience in a national treasure house."

Very exclusive property away from busy traffic. Our host Marina was exceptional and very helpful. She helped us plan our 2 days stay in Suzaka. We had a wonderful time. All amenities were of very high quality from bathroom linens to kitchen wares.

Wish they would have personal slippers instead of communal ones. Wish the lights were brighter in the Japanese style side of the house.
