Siroma Villa

The villa was our best stay in Sri-Lanka. The place was very clean and well maintained. The room had most of what you need for a comfortable stay and some other things were provided when asked (kettle, extra dishes, kitchen for heating some leftovers etc) The pool was clean and very refreshing (maybe even too warm at times, from the sunlight) There was a very friendly dog to give pats and belly rubs to on the property. The host were very friendly and provided some interesting fruits and food items to try. Cheap tuk-tuk rides were available from the property to get into the city area. The entire stay was very relaxing and we extended our planned stay for even longer.

The fridge was very small and looked old. After the sun went down, mosquitoes were an issue when staying on the terrace. The host provided some repellant but it is still not very effective. I would suggest building an area where there is shade over the pool because when swimming during the day, the sunlight is very intense and can burn pale skin very fast and there was only a very small corner of the pool to escape from direct sunlight. (maybe build a roof over 1/4 of the pool area so you can relax in the water without burning) The pool also sometimes felt a bit too warm because it got direct sunlight the entire day - the roof would also help with that.

A very beautiful villa, with a well-maintained garden and a very nice and friendly dog. Breakfasts took place outside on the terrace and were prepared only when we sat down at the table. The rooms are comfortable and clean, air-conditioned and with proper mosquito repellent. Very good, big, clean pool The owner of the villa was a good communicator and very friendly and helpful, took us to good restaurants and could recommend tours and tour guides. We felt safe and cared for, it was a pity to leave and we would like to return there. When you arrive in Sri Lanka, drive straight to Villa Siroma in Bentota, no need to waste time in Colombo or Negombo. The owner of the villa will organize transportation for you if you only know how to ask.

Perfect stay, perfect people!

Everything! The villa is absolutely stunning. Designed and built with a lot of thought and furnished very tastefully. The owner lives in Denmark and you can feel the delicate mix of Scandinavian and Sri Lankan design. The villa is looked after by the owner's brother Mr Manjula who is a lovely and cheerful person and such a joy to chat with, his sister (a very nice lady with a big smile), and their elderly mother. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, beds and pillows are comfy, and ceiling fans and AC are in each room. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool is clean. We sat in the afternoon by the pool, with a cup of tea, watching the monkeys and the giant fruit bats feeding in the neighboring trees! Mosquito nets and a plug-in insect repellent kept the bugs away. :) Breakfast is good and coffee/tea is brought to your room upon request. We asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast on the last day and it was homemade and delicious. Town and restaurants are within a short tuk tuk ride (or a long walk if you prefer walking, we couldn't opt for that as our children are 4 and 5 yo). Mr Manjula offered to take us to town in his tuk tuk at a very reasonable price and also suggested good restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at the villa and would recommend it 100%. It was the best ending to our Sri Lankan holiday! Thank you.
