Sol Mar Villa

We returned to Sol Mar in 2026 after a previous stay in 2023, both for 9-10 nights. We have stayed in 5 different houses during our 8 annual visits to Silver Sands. Sol Mar has a larger than avg pool, great views from the pool deck and gazebo, nice house layout. The staff this visit was Ms Ava (same as '23) and Ms Miriam (new to this house): delicious meals, clean house, laundry upon request. They were great, and I expect will get even better as they work together more.

Knocking off a couple points in hopes that management makes a few reasonable improvements, in line with other houes we've rented: 1. Showers did not have adequate hot or even warm water. 2 adults + 3 kids...enough warm water for 2 quick showers then the rest had only cold water. We mentioned to the staff, situation did not improve. We have not had this experience at other houses. Uncomfortable and not ideal at this price level. 2. Sol Mar should institute a policy to have staff gather used beach towels and provide fresh ones each day, which is the process we've seen at other houses. No need to wash everyday, just collect/dry/rotate. It's a better experience for guests and helps staff keep track of towels during the stay. 3. The bath and beach towels could use an upgrade. They are motel quality; thin, short, and bath towels shed. My wife and I agreed to share this feedback while at Sol Mar. After returning home, we received notice from the property manager that the staff could not find one towel so we would be charged $15. Minor offense of course, and maybe mildly offensive, but we had to laugh given points #2 and #3 above (i.e. they didn't keep track and no towel there was worth even $15). We paid, and asked that management apply towards better towels for future guests. We will definitely return to Silver Sands and we might return to Sol Mar.

Internet was sporadic. Only one tv out of three worked. Water pressure was an issue. Towels were not changed during the entire weekend.

The owner is very responsive and helpful. The staff on site looked after us very well, and cooked delicious meals for us. The property is very clean, and the interior is very tastefully decorated. Comfortable beds, and a nice pool with patio.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Sol Mar. The location is ideal, offering great sea views and is just a short walk to the wonderful beach. It was very pleasant to relax by the pool or under the gazebo. The villa was very clean and tastefully decorated in a lively tropical theme. Miss Joy and Miss Ava were very professional. The meals were well prepared and nicely presented. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of the host as there were board games and books available. Bug spray was also provided. We look forward to our next visit to Silver Sands. We would definitely recommend Villa Sol to our family and friends

Mosquitoes, but bug spray was provided and all windows and doors were screened to keep the critters at bay.

Great location. 5 minutes walk to a beautiful beach with a bar and restroom facilities. The pool and gazebo at the villa created the perfect spot to relax.

Slightly dated but well kept and clean

The property has updated their decor. Rooms all looked freshly updated. I especially liked the kitchen, which had newer appliances and dishes.

The building itself was showing its age. Front screen door was not in good shape. Side door was difficult to lock.

The host Lisa and her assistant Jannelle were both very accommodating and always maintained good communication throughout. The staff at the villa, Avagaye & Joy, were both very warm, welcoming & polite and provided the family with lovely meals for breakfast & dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our family getaway at this villa and we absolutely recommend this place to all our friends & family, and will most definitely stay here again.
