Kalliorinne - Lakefront Villa

You can tell immediately that this cabin was someone’s love project. Having picked a peaceful place with 270 degree view of the lake adding a catwalk (for meditation and sunbathing) the constructor was just as thoughtful inside the cabin. The photos do not do it justice … you just want to sit and meditate and then sauna, eat, and then pick the berries around the house and go back inside because its vibe is so peaceful….

The check in time (the usual 4pm) was a bit long but luckily we met the cleaner and she graciously let us in early.

- wunderschöne Lage direkt am See mit eigenem Steg, Ruderboot und Feuerstelle am Wasser (sensationell zum Sonnenuntergang!) - Haus ist top eingerichtet, super modern und sehr sauber - super Sauna mit Blick auf See - Riesen Grundstück, sehr ruhig und abgeschieden - gute halbe Stunde von Kuusamo Airport entfernt - Gastgeberin antwortet sehr schnell Info: Hausnummer ist 53A, muss man nur wissen.

Sijainti ja tontti olivat erinomaisia. Etelärinne, kuiva kangasmaasto, hyvä ranta uimiseen. Kivat ulkoalueet: terassi, jossa iso ruokailupöytä ja tuolit, nuotiopaikka, hyvä kaasugrilli. Mökki uudehko, sisustettu kivasti. Yläkerran parvekkeella aurinkotuolit. Säät suosivat meitä, joten oleskelimme paljon ulkona. Mökillä oli vene ja katiskakin löytyi, joten päästin myös tuoreen ahvenen makuun.

Mökissä ei ole lainkaan säilytystiloja omille tavaroille. Yksi kaappi makuuhuoneessa, joka sekin oli melkein täynnä majoittajan tavaroita. Muut lipastot yms. olivat kaikki lukossa. Vaatteet piti pitää koko ajan laukuissa. Myöskään vaatteiden kuivausmahdollisuutta sisällä ei ole, ei edes kuivaustelinettä. Mökissä on ilmalämpöpumppu alakerrassa lattianrajassa, joten se ei paljoa auttanut viilentämään parvella olevia tiloja. Parvella olevia tuuletusikkunoita ei saanut auki eikä ulko-ovia voinut hyttysten vuoksi pitää auki, joten mökin parvella oli aika kuuma. Katossa oleva tuuletin auttoi vähän. Hyttysverhot tms. oviin olisi auttanut paljonkin. Juomalaseja oli liian vähän viidelle. Sauna oli pieni ja epämukava. Portaat parvelle todella kapeat ja jyrkät, ei sovellu pienille lapsille.

The location, the rental property, the accommodations throughout the property, the appointments within the rental the AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL surroundings were all more than you can imagine. The only thing I would rate higher than the property itself is the host. My family is quite fortunate to travel around the globe, and I would rate - among the dozens of hosts I've work with - the hosts of Kalliorinne as the BEST yet. Everything you'd expect was already taken care of, and even my travel-related questions and frequent (Sorry, Jarkko!) random questions were always met sincerely and with far more attention than any other host I've met. The sheer fact the owner is willing to share this cabin - and I hope this transcends the cliche - is a short trip to an absolute paradise.

I can't think of anything the host could improve upon. Everything is so well organized, clean, beautiful and that doesn't even touch on the incredible bar they set for communication. I hope they don't change a thing!

Everything really! The cabin is very spacious and well equipped, the lake feels almost private and the location couldn’t be any better! So idyllic, calm and beautiful.

The sauna was a nice feature, however, it wasn’t well isolated and there was cold air coming in from outside. Not a big issue, but a bit of shame.
