Private Stone villa-Pool and Maountain view

La vue est exceptionnelle. On se sent vraiment isolé dans un paysage montagneux. L’emplacement est parfaitement bien situé, près de Chora Skafia pour prendre les bateaux vers Loutro. Un trajet en auto à couper le souffle. La maison a un charme unique, typique de la région.

Les équipements sont assez désuets. Le bain n’a pas de robinet, seulement une tête de douche qui coule très peu. Pas idéal pour les enfants. Il y a une forte odeur de moisissures dans la maison. Les planchers n’étaient pas lavés à notre arrivée, donc pas super pour notre bébé qui se promène à 4 pattes. Le breaker de la maison a sauté, lorsque nous avons parti le chauffe-eau et utilisé normalement d’autres équipements en même temps.

The setting: wonderful views from the terraces across wild flower filled meadows to the mountains, which still had snow in May. Cool and peaceful.

Das Haus ist wunderschön mit vielen kleinen möglichkeiten draußen den Ausblick zu genießen. Es liegt sehr ruhig etwas außerhalb des Ortes. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Exceptionally helpful and kind lady owner. Beautiful, well-maintained house, where nothing is missing. During the entire stay we did not have to deal with any minor shortcomings, which is not a given in Crete. The view is beautiful. The house is stylishly and tastefully furnished down to the last detail. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and once again we apologize for the minor complications during our arrival. A small complaint, which does not concern the excellent accommodation at all. The restaurants in the place are not good, we recommend driving further away from the place. Also keep in mind that in mid-October it can be colder in the area than on the coast.

La Villa Galatia est une magnifique demeure typique, très bien décorée, chaleureuse et particulièrement confortable. Nichée au milieu des montagnes, idéalement située pour profiter du cadre idyllique des criques au sud de l’île, elle est parfaitement adaptée aux familles avec enfant. La terrasse offre un petit cocon qui permet d’admirer les montagnes blanches et le balai des troupeaux de moutons. L’accueil est chaleureux et la propriétaire se montre à l’écoute.

Amazing villa in the hills near Askifou, ideally placed to get to the beaches on the South Coast of the Island and also near to European hiking trails in the mountains. Village of Askifou had lots of really nice restaurants - the taxi driver from Chania airport mentioned this as we arrived and he was right. Great views from the villa of the valley and not a lot of other tourists about in this area so felt like a more authentic experience. Despina the host was very quick to respond to any issues and helpful with suggestions on what areas/beaches to visit.

Everything was fine.

Super Location, super host, super nice and historical setting of the house - what’s not to like?

Relatively small thing that I mentioned to the landlord directly about a handful of photos that need to be updated. I’m sure she will take care of it.

The location is just breathtakingly exceptional.

Parking the car can be a little tricky at times.
