Timblalodgen - Mountain lodge near Sognefjord & Flåm

Beautiful view, comfy beds, sauna, and very well appointed!

Beautifully interior designed and well equipped chalet in quiet (in late August) area with far reaching views. We were in the first floor chalet and the X Box and the sauna were a bonus. Good base for exploring the surrounding area for a couple of days. There are no amenities nearby, which wasn’t a problem for us but may not suit others. There is a bike trail from the ski centre but unfortunately nowhere to hire bikes in late August - imagine it is a much active area earlier in the Summer.

The chalet would be perfect for a large group taking both the upstairs and downstairs but there is no sound insulation when they are let separately - we were downstairs and could hear every word and action of the occupants above. On the first night it was just a couple upstairs and if we had music/the TV on we could just about pretend they weren’t there as they went to bed at a reasonable time. On second night a family with young kids arrived around 9pm just as we were settling down for an early night due to an early start the next morning - the kids were running around and shouting and there was continuous noise (even with earplugs in) until well after midnight. We have children ourselves so know it wasn’t necessarily the fault of the family - just poor building design unfortunately.

The property is well equipped and it is really comfortable. The location for us was good as we were just sleeping over to continue the journey to Geiranger during the summer.

The place was beautifully furnished and the view from the living area was spectacular.

We didn’t realize the basement would be rented to another group. The sound really carried and we could hear every word of their conversations like we were in the same house together rather than separate units. Also there were many many flies in the house and there was no hair dryer.
