Stone house Castellum

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights while inter-railing during the school holidays and it was surprisingly quiet considering. The location was amazing. Right next to a museum, food shop, bakery and beaches. Only a short train journey (c10 mins) into the centre of Split too (you will need cash for the bakery and train, there is an ATM not far away). The host was fantastic and really helpful with everything, she was very passionate about the area which was nice. The rooms were clean and air conditioned. We also managed to watch a big dance show that had set up about 10m from where we were staying, with examples of traditional Croatian music and dance, it was really interesting. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do the National parks or many of the UNESCO sites, but we heard good things. Overall an amazing stay and I would absolutely recommend to anyone considering- our favourite place we stayed so far on our trip!

This is only minor and didn’t affect the quality of our stay, but the pillows in the rooms were a bit too big and hard. They looked really nice but weren’t very practical to sleep on. Quite a few steep steps, up and down the house. This didn’t bother us, but someone with less mobility might find it challenging, although doesn’t seem that bad.

Just amazing place. Everything needed in a walking distace, restaurants, grocerystores, beach, fishmarket. The atmosphere of hundreads of years old surroundings with modern interior, beautiful patio. We would give 12 out of 10 definitely as the hosts were also extremely nice and helpful people. Split center also easy to access by train in approx 20 minutes. We will definitely visit again!
