Fabulous setting. The house was beautifully decorated and finished. It had absolutely everything that we needed. Stay.The hosts were welcoming and accommodating. We could not have wished for more.

We loved everything about this property. No complaints or criticisms. We have already booked to stay again!

Loved our stay here! Great facilities and plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved the animals, and collecting the chook eggs. We made good use of the pool and spa. We would most definitely book again.

Some of the beds were really hard. I like a firm bed but these were extra firm. But did not stop us enjoying our stay! Also some of the toilet seats were very loose, and didnt seem to fit properly. Again, made no difference to our overall feeling for the place, more just a reason for giving a 4 instead of 5 star.

"Amazing setting with warm and generous hosts, beautiful spot for a family gathering!"

We stayed here for three nights to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday with the family, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The setting is absolutely beautiful—nestled on a vineyard with views of rolling hills, cows, chickens, and even a pig, which our family loved. The house itself was well-equipped, comfortable, and worked perfectly for all ages, including my 96-year-old grandmother. Alistair and Karen were fantastic hosts—friendly, helpful, and incredibly responsive. They even went out of their way to arrange for some of my grandmother’s belongings to be posted back after she accidentally left them behind, which we really appreciated. This was such a memorable stay, and we’d absolutely love to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and charming stay in Matakana.
