Villa Angelica Meronas

Nice location situated in the mountains between Rethymno and southern part of Crete. Some of the bedrooms are amazing due to view, while others are very good. There is plenty of common space inside and outside. Temperatures in July, during the evening, are way nices than on the coast.

Is not for everyone, as location is far from beaches. Driving in the area on mountain roads is not eazy. For us, it was an oasis of silence and mindfulness, time spent with family and friends.

very nice villa within a very prettty town. I can defeneatly recommend the tavernas. the pool area and the views were very good and the rooms were comfortable

the descrption mentions a sofa bed but this does not exsist. there are sofa's but no sfa beds and it should therefor not sleep more than 11 people unless this is rectified. the most suitable sofa is in an area without a curtain which added to the discomfort. There is a half size dishwasher which is not suitable for the amount of people. The aircon didn't work for the first week of our 2 week stay but this was quickjly resolved when highlighted to the owner the property, although, very pretty, is in need of some TLC as some sockets are hanging out of the walls and paint is flacking off and WIFI reception is poor. The kitchens are basic so do not expect too much.

Our stay was very good, the villa is gorgeous. The hosts left us food and snacks and the communication was great and clear. The view is astonishing and even though the location it's not near the sea, it is great as we went both south and north in about one hour. Nearby we also found a beautiful hike as well. (Patsos Gorge)

The overall isolation of the place was great, high up in the mountains away from pretty much everything apart from the locals. We thoroughly enjoyed the drive through the hills and the view from the balcony on the morning was beautiful. The amenities are great and the welcome basket was a lovely addition. On a night time the pool area is beautiful.

Some of the photos don't give a true representation of the place. We hired this for our wedding and guests. Although the place really has grown on us, the initial impression that it was a little tired in places and could benefit with a few touch ups. We didn't anticipate just how many midges and ants would be around. Most guests were unable to sit out on a night because of being bitten multiple times. There is nations of ants all around the pool and in most rooms of the property. I understand it is the nature of where the villa is situated but non the less it does take a few days to get used to. The overall look of the inside of the villa is great very rustic and modern. The shower rooms especially in the top bedroom does fill and water ends up soaking all the floor. The ground floor appartment does have abit of damp in the bathrooms and could benefit from work being done to combat that. The pool was cleaned often, but the amount of dead flies and ants we stayed away from the pool by the 2nd week.

Wonderful property, authentic stay in the hills. The host was so helpful and the hamper on arrival was gorgeous. Would highly recommend!!

Nothing! It was all perfect!

Merona is a charming village, the amari valley and the surrounding area is very beautiful. Welcome basket that waited us in the kitchen contained all kind of goodies and fridge was quite full too. House was spacious, comfortably and colorfully decorated.
