Happy Holiday Cascais - Garden

No problems. Just as I expected. I was sick for 2 days and it was good to be at this house rather than hotel room. Good beds Some supplies when we arrived and short walk to restaurants etc.

Nothing, this was what I did expect

The place was close to downtown Cascais and the waterfront. The price was reasonable for the space

Advertised for 7 guests and only slept 6 comfortably. No toilet paper . Not enough towels for all guests.

The hosts were very friendly and responsive and the location of the property was fantastic, very close to the shops, restaurants and beaches,

The property was in need of maintenance in several areas: The doors handles were so stiff that we got stuck in the rooms (guests as long ago as 2 years had mentioned this) , the bath did not drain well and the bathroom fixtures and fittings were in need of replacement. Other items such as a shortage of crockery and lack of seating for 6 guests and one of the fans rattling noisily, gave the impression that the owners were just getting by with the bare minimum of care and attention paid.

Helpful staff once contacted and reliable photos. Clean bedrooms.

The bathroom door does not work properly. We got locked inside it for over ten minutes twice during our stay. The panting in the 2 single bedroom fell in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was on that bed but the 8-10 pound painting was being hung by one hook. Very dangerous. The code for the lock box was not given to us prior to our arrival.

Property not on beach front as stated. Also no lounge. Beds can only accommodate 6 people. Villa can only accommodate 4.

Location & cost

Fairly basic accommodation with no communal area.

Ideal for the town centre, near to the beaches and away from the crowds. Excellent pizza takeaway and Beer bar around the corner. Several great local restaurants in the area that don't rip off tourists.

Very hot, even with fans running around the clock. A few strange unexplained things happened.
